Pistol vs RJ Males 45 Pistol is out of Cool hand Luke x Lil Bolero. I know this rings a bell because bred Lil Bolero out of CH Chinaman x CH Bolero. We traveled south into Mexico for this one. The weight was 45 males. Pistol was under maybe a 1/4 pound. The other dog was a pound under the weight. The gentleman hosting is a true sportsman and a credit to the Game, the unfortunate thing was the language barrier. However there were other people present that were fluent in both languages. The rules were agreed upon and it was on. dogs werre faced and pitted . Pistol piled their dog in the corner staying in his Chest for 10 min or so then went to the Stifle for another 10 min The other dog was strictly a head dog also a 1xw. He finally got on pistols head and they were both mouth to mouth. All the Pit side dogmen as you have it, must yell instructions to their Handler, as if you have time to listen. All I could hear was watch for Fangs over and over. Like I did not know to do that, except in this case it was not something I was watching for, I finally told the ones yelling Fanged Hell he hardly had any teeth, which was true Pistol was a hard keeper on a chain, but always intense and Game to the core. That is why we took him. We had 2 dogged him and he has been eaten from Front to back, but never turned or hesitated on a Scratch. This was Pistol all the way for ther first hour. I had called several turns but they were not recognized by the ref. It was just a matter of time as he was going to continue to Turn. Finally at 45 a Turn was agreed upon and a Handle was made. Of course these dogmen are yelling hold your dog. Did I hell no they released their dog and as soon as they did and he took his first step I cut Pistol loose and he busted him again. Pistol was slowing but surely taking out his Front end out. However the other dog Started getting on Pistols nose. At about 1:15 this dog hung a Cutter in Pistols gums and it did massive damage to his upper mouth. For a while his jaw was out of socket and it locked closed. So this dog went to work on Pistols nose, crushing it and you could see the bone fragments thru the gums. Pistol finally got loose and got his jaw opening again and Started working the Chest. On several occasions Pistol had their dog pinned in the Pit corners sitting up and rooting in his Chest. We thought it was just a matter of time. This dog looked like he wanted to leave but every time he was taken to the corner he would Scratch slow, but was coming. At the 1:40 mark both dogs were in mouth holds laying down. I realized we could win but would lose the dog. I just sold his littermate to Korea and got a hell of a lot more for him then what the bet on this Match was for, and not being as sure if he was as Game as Pistol was. So I asked for a courtesy and Pistol Scratch and picked him up at 1:50. He went across like his first one, crushed nose and jaw and blind in one eye but went like a rocket. Pistol was brought home never able to go again which by the way theirs wasnt either because he died. To bad because he deserved better. It was a good time down in old Mex. that Night. And it is true Pistol had nothing but nubs for teeth. I don't think it would have went 1hr if he had some. The hog he was on that night was Game put did not make it 2hrs after the show.
In case y'all are wondering the bet for that night was $300...

Few lessons come to mind reading this story.
Head dogs can be and are competitive in fastlane comp.
Have the good sence to pick up youre dog if need be.
Win or loose without proper aftercare you aint bringing home a dog.
The amount of the bet has nothing to do with the quality of dogs being shown.
