how do i get an old males spermcount up??

got an old tatonka bred male thats a great producer but hes 12 havent bred him in 2 yrs and then only got 3 pups, but they were all aces!!! need to get his sperm up

 

Nupro, sperm-up to name a couple and (for me anyways) if he is old and doesn't get much work done with him anymore get him moveing again don't be surprised is thats all he needs, hope this helps............

Exactly. The right supplement and "release program" can help raise sperm count and motility.

 

Instead of just guessing, the best thing to do is to take him to a reproductive vet and get a sperm count so you know what you are working with. Supplements may or may not help at this point, and the vet will be able to tell you.
Here is a list of supplements if you just want to try and see what happens.

Bulgarian Tribulus
Zinc
Saw Palmetto
Wheat Germ oil

zuidwest , your right . but i don't need the vet . if your male has'nt been getting any and he's old , you need to do whatever you have to to get pups .

 

while its second hand info, but from a breeder trying to make the most of an old one, i was told when the old fart was switched over to a raw diet, it was suprising what his count was next time it was checked.

 

I buy it by the gallon... & only giv a cap full during feed

 

Best thing to do is too always keep him healthy, in decent shape, lean, exercised and fed a good diet. Supplement with vitamins C & E and zinc along with some Bulgarian tribulus. Do this a month or two before you plan to breed him.

HCG or clomid Body builders use these drugs to get their balls working after a cycle. The natural supps just raise test not sperm count. Clomid is a fertility drug.

 

My thoughts exactly DAMN three aces in one litter? lol. Dog must have a Midas Dick lol.
