I know some folks dont practise the breeding meethod including me but I have seen some nice bulldogs produced using this method.
Can anybody post up some titled dogs using the best x best method ?

(best x best without out using linebreedin or inbreeding)

STP practised loose line breeding most of the time. Best to best will give extremely inconsistant results at best. Too much breeding going on in any case, put more care into proper raising and feeding than into pipedreams of best to best.

best to best gets you REAL bulldog. Breeders love their own line.

Breeding is all about genetics... in a linebreeding program the change on a "click" is greater. And will give a higher consistent percentage of good dogs over the years.

As we all know there is alot of money involved in racehorses and breeding them. And the scientific back-up of their breeding programs is certainly not a money issue.
So I copied a little text from a horsebreeding site :) and their opinion about breeding best X best.

    Breeding Theories
    1. Breed the best to the best and hope for the best / It Starts with Breeding The Good Mares
Studies have proven that the best runners generally make the best sires and that the best racemares also make the best broodmares. While not all top male runners succeed as stallions (in fact, the percent of success is very small), it is far more unusual for a poor racehorse to beat the odds and become a good proven sire. It is much more likely for a poorly-raced dam to outbreed her own record on the track, especially when she has a good pedigree and is bred to good stock. On the other hand, statistics have shown that high quality Mares produce an inordinatey high percent of high class runners.

A Stallions career as a sire shows most times a great racehorses will produce other great racehorses. Breeding relies on science and a lot of luck. Wealthy breeders will play the numbers game, owning as many good mares and producing as many foals with top-class pedigrees as possible in the hope that one or two are capable of winning the big races.

I think best to best works a lot better when you have the best line bred dog and do an out cross to another best line bred dog. I think that if you have the best line bred dog and breed it to another best dob but that dog is completly scatter bred that the percents will be dredfully low.

    Bingo.....we have a winner here.
Random best to best breedings are a crap shoot. But, line breeding the best of that line to eachother is the way to go.

STP bred best to best....but where is the famous STP line of dogs?

If only it was as simple as breeding best to best we could all have great dogs.

they bred to outcrossed animals together. that is pretty loose and if you look at how he mad rom it was by inbreeding, mostly back to butkus stuff. you can only go so loose b4 gettin super inconstistant results. nothin about leftyis random b est to best breeding. it best to best crossing particular lines as was stated by flipside above

    the top is tight jeep/redboy
the bottom is tight yellow crossed to tight bolio and boyles blood
i like the way they are bred
that doesnt promise good dogs will come out of it
imo there should be a specific reason why that particular stud was bred to that female
but still on paper it looks good

I asked the question on why he went with the stud he went with this is what he said, ''he is producing what she is lacking'' so i guess he done it for that reason lol.

Breed only best to the best and forget about the rest.Only proven dogs should be allowed to have sex. That is the way I breed my dogs for years regardless to genetics. That is the way our breed was made anyway.yis
