I have not been in these dogs for many years, but I make damn sure I gain practical hands-on experience from practical experimenting.

Here is a task for you guys. Take a sample of urine when your dog eat a lot of grass. Analyze the findings and keep it safe. When you see he has no interest in grass then do the same. The findings will be a guide why they eat grass.

You may as well do all other tests including saliva, blood and feacal tests. The findings will give you the exact reason why they eat grass.

In my obseravations I tried to correct the ratio after my findings and I was startled that my grass lover was no longer interested in the grass.

For those who will find it difficult to run these tests you may do this. Run a dog on a mill and SLIGHTLY exceed its maximum stress on daily basis and take him to a grassy area. OBSERVE. Then stop completely and rest the dog completely. After few weeks of complete rest, take your dog out and OBSERVE.

The answer will be before you why dogs eat grass.

well not to be argumentative but i still think dogs eat grass to clear and settle their stomachs, afterall it does come out both ends to varying degrees.

i consider dogs to have traits of both omnivores as well as carnivores, and consider them to be both, even tho they do display more traits of the carnivore and should have explained that better. they eat both meat as well as vegetables. The fact that dogs lack grinding molars and salivary amylase is often used as a central piece of evidence to support the idea that dogs are solely carnivores. What is never pointed out, however, is that neither of these is necessary in order to digest foods mostly composed of water and simple sugars, such as fruit. Although most dogs do chew them, these foods can be digested even without chewing.Undomesticated dogs didn't/don't exist soley on meat, neither do domesticated. it's a subject of continual debate, but i deem them as omnivores as well.

Dogs eat Grass because A.fresh new growth for vitamins and B. when over producing bile hence to vomit it up or get dragged through the gut in a more less stressfull way.
