Bert Sorrells is a legend. No discussion needed. He always will be remembered as one of those breeders that made history. Fact!
Also Joanie got some decent stuff as she parted ways with Bert.
What about to say about the Sorrells stuff?
Damn I got some and couldn´t be more satisfied. It only depends on where you get them.
As for Europe there is one more or less actual example Pera´s Ch. Silver a pure Sorrells dog that have been the worst nightmare for any Gr. Ch. at his weight arround....... As I´m not that heavy into the dogs anymore I don´t know about what he produced but he sure as hell was a decent dog!

He is out of the dogs. There are people who have his stuff, that are breeding them right, but they don't sell to the public. I dont know anything about the Tatonka kennels dogs.

Might ask Tatonka Kennels who runs it, Joanie is always pretty helpful and a nice person to talk to!

At this point in her life she is out to selling dogs. I highly doubt she will give away a sale.

Honestly, we're talking about a member with 14 posts, chances are this person doesn't know where to find the "good dogs" and if he did, these people probably wouldn't give him the time of day. Sometimes people have to go to a big name, big $$ kennel to get a decent, honest, well bred dog to get a foot in the door.

I hear Bert went 25 years undefeated. I talked to him and have his number Toppa if you haven't gotten it yet.

I never said that. All I said was it's a possibility that a new member with only a few posts may not be able to get his hands on the "good dogs". Been there myself. If you feel the need to laugh at me go ahead, it won't hurt my feelings, it just reinforces why I really don't post much.

HPIM0786.JPG These are pictures from my Sorrell's dog. Picked him up in florida from Bert himself in 2006. Best dog I have ever had the privelage of training and conditioning. His name is Perez' Johnny Cash. 47lbs. full grown, Sired by Sorrell's Ch. Pokey, and Sorrell's Cheddar. Heavy sorrell's Raisin, and Shoeshone in his pedigree. I think this gives me a right to talk about the sorrell's line. The only other dogs on my yard that are from a different strain but are just as loyal, and hot as ol Johnny here are my heavy Honeybunch bred dogs. Females 35lbs of "never quit"! Males about 47-52lbs of the same. Who ever said Sorrell's isn't what comes to mind when it comes to "working dogs" is eat up with the Dumb A@#! Fortunately, I'm one of the lucky ones who was able to get my dog From the man himself. I'm not opposed to getting from Joanie since Bert seems to be MIA. The proof is in the strain. If you can still get dogs from old timers like Bert, Colby, and yes even Joanie, then you are truly getting a foundation dog that can and for the most part will prove himself to be athletic and hot as hades. IMHO

Sorrell dogs are some good dogs it depends on which strand you are coming through and which sorrell you are dealing with I have not had a chance to meet either sorrell but I have seen both of there different lines perform and they are some solid game dogs. As far as basing your yard off any particular dog it can be done with any bloodline all bloodlines produce it just depends on what you are looking for!
