Does anybody have any examples or directions of how to build an opening door for kennel pen set-ups?

I am attempting to do something similar to Garner's pen set up, but am not sure how I should go about making a door with the latch and hinges.

    Thanks!

as much as some might want to help you, you arent telling too much info on the diameters you want the door to be. kennel doors arent like house door were they are set at a set code. you can make a kennel door as little to were it only allows you shoulder room to step in and prevent excapes to a door that swings very wide. if your making it secure like the way tg video shows it shouldn't be to hard to get it to work for your self. when you figure the diameter your going to need the (3)door hinges a barrel lock and to prevent the dog from pushing the door outwards from the inside of the kennel nail in a 2x4 across the top of the door on the outside of the kennel. it will be the door stop, so the dog wont able to put stress on the door.

I use all welded wire now, eliminating all wood.

this is very helpful....how would one connect all the panels together?

I am hoping to make a 16 by 16...i got the horse panels tom mentioned in his video, will use 2x4 lumber, but i just was concerned about the door and how to connect the 4 panels together while they are upright

Connect each panel the same as you would frame up an exterior wall

Good.. glad you could see the chicken scratch...lol...
What's the size of the horse panels TG's using? Are the frames of these panels square or round?
Actually, I have'nt seen T's video, but I would sure be tempted to simplify things and firstly...dig holes where you want to connect the panels(eg:each corner and then an extra one where your gate will go) and put in 4x4's the height of the panels(add 2-3 ft for the hole depth)then use something like a U-Bolt to hold your panel to the fence post..if this is what you might want, I can draw it up for you if you give me the panel dimensions.

As for my old self, I use construction panels (the fencing seen around construction worksites, outside at supermarkets used as deviders for their gardening stuff?)
These welded wire panels are basically ready to go....all I have to make is the the front panel where the gate will go..the couplings/connections that come with these panels are like the drawing(if you can see it )..I make this same type of hinge for the gate, which I make out of 1 inch square tube steel (2 pieces of 5 1/2ft and 2 pieces of 3ft, weld the 4 corners and attach chain link or welded wire)

    ...and blah,blah,blah...zzzzzzzzzzz...lol

Let me know if this is any help...and if the drawing is legible

    this is the video

i will have concrete as my flooring...

i wonder if it will be better to use steel tubing as my frame, my only question would be how could i connect the wire panel to the tubing frame? I doubt the aluminum fence wire would be able to hold the panel

  11. Use tie wire's or you can even tack weld if you are goin to use tube.

    Hey act,

    These are what I use..
These barriers are used mainly around construction sites etc..steel framed free standing welded wire fence panels.
They usually just rent them, but if you look around you can usually find them for sale, I got mine for the same price as TG got his fence wire for...
    They come in basically 3 sizes...6', 8' or 10 ft high x 6,8,10 ft in length...the best
