What good does raw do once a month?

 

We feed Diamond Naturals only in the off season and mix meat with it during the hunting season. The EA is good but we don't need to use it during season as we have PLENTY of extra meat, bones and organs. For the price it is great!

 

Well, my dogs aren't pit bulls (mutt and rat terrier), but I feed Merrick Whole Earth Farms from Petco ($41 for 35 ilbs) or Exceed Chicken and Rice Formula. I don't think I would ever go back to many of the dog foods I used to feed.

 

Yhat merrick sure is good stuff, but as far as price your gettin robbed, theres other great kibble out there for half the price corperate industries are charging!

 

i meant i only feed dog food once a month for the vitamins or when i am facing financial hardships.

 

Could you name a few, please? It does sound like getting robbed, but this is the first time I've purchased Merrick. Lol!!

 

merrick whole earth farms is an excellent dog food and extremely affordable especially if you have multiple dogs. if tractor supply wasn't so close i would go get that dog food more often.

 

i judge dog food based on quality of first five ingredients, protein level, and compactness of the stool.

 

Well theres diamond to start with. Then theres natural balance & castor n pollux.

Personally i find totw pound for pound the best deal, and besides switching to raw cant really be beat as far as quality. 35lbs of top shelf GF food for 37$.

If you were to buy that stuff from petco youd be paying ATLEAST $59 for a 35 lb bag. Prolly about the same price u spent on the merrick!

Im tellin you, diamond leads me to believe they built that company for dogmen lol

 

Next to diamond id say ur next best bet would be "canidea", again completely GF, all natural ingredients and not costing an arm & a leg

what percent protein is too high for you? i won't go over 28%.

 

Id say that depends on what your doing with them.

 

Exactly bama, pregnant or working (and young pups) id keep on higher (diamond EA is 33%). adult house dogs id say 25% or so

 

IF u keep em lazy on the diamond EA, they tend to get fat quick

 

I tried this before and one of my dogs itched like crazy on it but he doesn't tolerate grains well at all so he has to be on a grain free food. Other dog's did ok with it but if your dog is sensitive to grains than I wouldn't recommend diamond naturals as it's not grain free but it's better than the regular diamond.

 

I feed Tracker (24,20) when its available in this area! Next choice is Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice!!

 

Orijen. no problems cept price shit cost to damn much

 

Diamond Naturals ,DN Extreme athlete, Blue Buff or TOTW is all great food. I usually DN lamb and rice with BARF as well.
