kennels...what do yall do?

I live in the EU Laced but if you want i can send you the spec's of those and how to make them.
It's very easy.
We have many company's that make them over here, so very easy to come by but have not seen them in the states on any site.

 

Cheaper in the end ...well it ends up being more expensive,do it right the first time and it will save you money in the end.Laced is cable runs outlawed in your area? If you cant chain and you cant afford a very decent kennel setup I would suggest cable runs as long as its legal in your area.

 

yes. that is what i have. mine are sitting on pressure treated 6 x 12 decks i built, and are fastened down with metal conduit clamps screwed into the wood so they cant move.

 

tsc should have the panels TG uses. You could take a bolt cutter to them and half them so you only gotta buy two($150 or so still have 7.5x7.5). follow Tom instructions and it should cost that much more. Dont think he goes into detail about the door which could also be a problem as well as flooring but you could buy a gate from Home depot and fit it in there too. Good luck but dont skimp

Those look nice, although the wood frames would probably rot away at some point. The video is a nice demonstration though.

 

I built an above ground pen with the hog panel from tractor supply. Well my Butkus male got through the holes in the panel and got loose on 2 of my friends dogs that I was watching for the weekend. I went on C.L. to see if they had hog panel with smaller holes to replace the other panel. I found 8 4'x8' panels for $115.00 and he threw in a HUGE sky crate as well that he was'nt using. Just got to look around some.

 

I'm trying to visualize this. You use 4 of the hog panels, and make a square pen that is 8 feet on a side, and 4 feet tall. How do you make a gate into this, how do you secure the panels, how do you make a roof, and how do you prevent digging under? And then you crouch down and go in? It seems easier to buy a pre-made kennel, although you still have to buy a cover, and you either need to set it up with paver stones for a floor (as people have shown on this website), or bury welded wire underneath to prevent digging.

The above ground pen is your typical type of set up with the gate being in front of the enclosure. All that is needed is two panels to complete both sides, with a small amount for the gated front. The floor consist of wood slats spaced apart for easy clean up. The roof is plywood that's treated. Have'nt added the sheet metal as of yet. I have pics in my phone

 

Sheep/goat panels are the ones to use so the dogs cant get out.

 

Hey Joe I Like that But that would cost a shit load over here. I just built a all steal walk in a 5 x 10 and it cost over 400 in just steal, Not included Gas and wire for the welder My Roofing, or the Concrete footer I set it on. and the paint is over 75$ just to paint it. and if I use allum instead my dogs will eat out of it For some reason they like the way it taste, But that cage you have is nice I just see the stuff to build one with costing as much as he can go to Tractor supply and getting one of those Pre fab things they are OK and cost about the same to make a walk in the same size. That's what I have to tell people when they ask how much I charge for one. i am not even going to say what it cost me to build mine But one thing is for sure No dog can get out My last customer wrote me and said that cage could lock his old lady in when she wants to bar hop. LOL

 

Here's a few of mine under construction thier 4x8 kennel's 4 kennels total from k9 kennel supply.Since these pics I have finished the base and installed the anti fight panels no problems yet Its been about 5 months

 

I have a ten x ten chain link. It's a piece of crap. My ancient toothless dog trashed the crap out of it. It's really only good for pups....

 

Is no-climb fencing mesh better than welded wire? This is the stuff that has extra wire wrapped around every intersection.

I have learned the hard way to position the wood always on the outside of the wire so that the chewers won't work away and potentially ruin their goods

Hey Laced, if you can't find one on CL or Backpages, I would just make one. It's cheaper then buying a brand new one. Especially if your just looking for a 6 x 6..
