Most numbers of scratches in a single match.....

    What are the greatest number of recorded scratches in a single match. Under Cajun rules the dog must of crossed the line and taken hold of his opponent to count.

    I dont know what the record is but I do know My Little Milou scratched (between him and Tailor) in 2.14 mins a total of 31 scratches, Tailor did not make his 16th scratch.

    P.S. And the winner was a little over 6 yrs old at the time.........

    Not sure if it's the most, but it's up there... MIMS' FIDDLEFOOT (1XLG), THIS DOG LOST HIS FIRST MATCH IN 2:17min... Scratching 21 times.

    You gotta be careful counting scratches as gameness... its all in how early scratchin gets started and the skill of the handler to handle at the right times... ref being a fren helps.... lol u can handle and it be cleaan.. another time its a foul. And another time u feed ur dog a nose..... just relies on the styles of dogs invovled really...

    Some times all a lot of scratching means is not much action - dogs coming out of holds and laying around etc. But, when 2 dogs go 3 hours with no turns & no out of holds - That my friends is impressive.

    how do you figure that hammer head? 3 hour shows are rare, but no more rare than a show where both dogs are lost.

    a 3hour show with no turns definitely usually means losing both dogs. hell a 3 hour show with turns usually means that too.

    I appreciate the feat of a 3 hr match with no turns or handles is a sight to behold. BUT I personally like the appeal of scratching the dogs out. It works on two levels: showing game and allowing the quit to come out.
