I have been wanting to try some. Co worker of mine was telling me he did some shots in a bar, with the flaming sugar or whatever. Said tastes like anise, but said it wasn't anything special. Way he sounded I think I will try it in a bar and save myself $70 lol

Not a whiskey but I like it, some good sipping after a meal or with a cigar, also think it is HIGHLY underrated here in the states but Mexican brandy is the shhhit! Forget tequila. I have had Don Pedro and Presidente.

  4. I like makers mark a lot but drink Jack D on the weekdays,,, LOL Bushmills is nice but it's closer to scotch than I like so Jamesons suits me a bit better. I so wish I could drink scotch ... it is so much more dignified for a woman than 'whiskey'
    - LOL but I just can't get that shit down without making 'that face'. Currently the run of the mill JD suits me just fine. Been drinking wine tonite and I might just feel bad in the morning,,,, dammit! ETA I have to say tho that I've learned with tequila and scotch, etc ........ that the more you pay , the soother it goes down!

In the interest of science, my experiments continue. I have now added to my list some more Scotch: Laphroaig, Teachers, Bunnahabhain, and Johnnie Walker Red label. Others had mentioned Laphroaig here. It kind of reminds me of seaweed and medicine, yet it has an appeal. It and the Bunnahabhain (good stuff) were pretty expensive. The Teachers and Johnnie Walker were on sale for around $21.00, and both are good.

I tried Tullamore Dew - although not the 12 year. It is nice! Have you tried Redbreast? I have heard it's very good Irish Whisky.

I've recently been thinking about getting back into drinking a little here and there. However, I am at the age where I dont want to drink to get drunk. Getting a buzz isnt bad and obvious that is the point, but to get there I'd like a nice slow ride.

So been researching and Brandi's seem to be more in the realm of what I would enjoy. With that, Im getting a bottle of something decent for the holidays, just havent decided what. Wish I had a friend that had a good cabinet so sample from. LOL

Jameson all the way, drink it all night with a bit of ginger and lime. Bad things happen if I drink to much straight (and usually not to me)

No such thing as good or bad whiskey....

Only blended or single malt. Rest is plain old marketing. Three years maturity is a minimum to be classed as whiskey. Different origins of Water is said to have an effect but it's overstated. All whiskeys are mass produced and bottled locally and sold on wholesale.

Drink what you can afford or make it your self :-)
