Bainbridge, GA - According to Bainbridge Public Safety, BPS is investigating a potential dog fighting ring discovered Saturday, January 19.

Sergeant David Cutchin was patrolling on Columbia St. when he noticed a large number of dogs located behind a home on the 700 block. Cutchin began looking at the animals and noticed some were bleeding and many were malnourished.

Upon further investigation, Cutchin discovered a residence located behind the one on Columbia St. (located on Love St.) also had a large number of dogs. Both residences showed signs of dog fighting.

Over 40 dogs were retrieved from the two residences. A vet is currently evaluating each dog's condition. BPS's Criminal Investigation Division is investigating and determining charges. Arrests are pending

too many dogs. true. on chains in open view with a ban on chains. treadmills in the yard and a jenny inside city limits bad.
fresh wounds bad. the malnourished dog jus had pups so is was under weight.. its still a city investigation, they only got tickets, but have a chance at getting some back as of yet none have been killed or rehomed..

You're so true. In the early to mid 90's my partners and I had a combined yard of over 60 dogs. That's each yard having over 20 dogs on a 3 yard city property including kenneled basements, which wasn't much room for more expansion. I wouldn't dare it now....that would be throwing up red flags to people who can't mind their own business.

I think it just a dam shame what they call signs of fighting! Ok the mill and Jenny didn't help the case but I doubt one person who owns more than one dog can say they are no scars or cuts or something the authorities would deem signs of fight activity. As far as the mills go.... Their a must to properly exercise a dog if you work and have more than one! And the ban on teatheringqnd chaining.... BS! You want to hold an owner accountable and then say you can't take precautions?? That's jus a crock!!!
