I don't always breed back to back, actually I rarely do just when a female only had a very small litter but in reality it doesn't hurt the female as they were designed to breed every cycle.I just don't want that many pups, lol

I get your point but I believe one that breeds back to back and actually cares about the well being of their animals takes all these things you mention into consideration prior to breeding.I think what boogieman was trying to point out was that breeding back to back does have positive benefits for a healthy bitch nothing more or less and it's been proven by top medical repoduction specialists. There are many varibles to breeding so it's not cut and dry and many things have to be taken into account prior to breeding two animals. Boogieman just answered the Op's question he's not telling anyone here how to breed their animals.

Understood, and I agree, Boogie. That's why I did mention peddling dog flesh and being greedy in any fashion should have nothing to do with the subject IMO. I think there are points of view here that can be entertained and no harshness involved. I think when we deem all things as cookie cut, and as though situations don't apply equally to medical information, along with experience, then we make a subject difficult to discuss, and our minds tend to close to all worthwhile things to consider.

Any research into performance after a bitch being bred to? heard of studies in women, which states that they perform better after pregancy.

  12. That would be interesting. I know there are in race horses, not sure about k9's

not that many high rank good producing bitches. it would have been some task getting 5 & dropping 3 or 4 litters in between.i think rhe best bitches were 1,2 or never even shown.

I don't condone it.But let me ask you this.If the bitch was in the wild, and she came in heat,do you think she'd be getting bred?Fuck yes she would every time she comes in heat. Not saying I think everyone should breed the fuck outta their bitches.I'm just saying.

James, for me, I can't answer, and one reason is that I don't believe "the wild" has anything to do with our dogs, in ANY way, shape or form.
And OKC, I'm sure not part of any ganging up on you. I believe there are both strong and not so strong points to be had on both sides of this issue. I just think peddling dog flesh should have nothing to do with the biological aspects of it, is all. I think there is room for points on either side of it, yet I will always believe, as you do, that experience and a feel for what one has at hand can and often should supercede mere findings, IF those findings cannot or do not apply SITUATIONALLY to what you have at hand.

If your bitch is healthy and in right conditions..just me tho..i breed every heat 5 times..then retire that bitch.

I really don't believe in the whole "wild thing either" It was more less a short analogy of the body knows when it can,or can't take another litter.A lot of unhealthy bitches won't come into heat,or won't take, because the body knows (or thinks at least) that it can't take another litter. If she comes into heat, then the body obviously thinks that the bitch can handle it, and who are we to argue with nature's anatomy.

JKpitts, that may be true for your bitch, any said bitch. But may not for others. Many things can put the dampers on that continual progressions. Many maladies and malfunctions. As I said, to me, its a heat-by-heat affair, and the key to me, is to pay attention to your bitch each time, considering things that need to be considered with each time, applying your experience, and your knowledge of your bitch's current condition. Even seeking a good vet's suggestions. I see nothing awry or wrong with what you just said. I just don't believe that conditions to allow such should be taken for granted and not looked over first.
