Are Mayday dogs manbiters?

I was personally around one of Maydays sons from his last litter Mayday/queenie
He wasn't a man eater but was a one person animal. He did have his close calls with a few but from me standing back and observing it was always human error. Seasoned dog men had no problem with him. Won one and lost one.

I have always kept redboy/jocko dogs and they were all one person dogs, and very ruff in all aspects. They made poor pets if kept in a family environment. So they went on chains spots when they were too much to handle without 24 hour supervision ( From pups till about 6 months ).
And they were similar from the Burns Humdinger female and her litter. To a tant female and her litter.

Purchased a male from Victor double bred on top and bottom, making him 75% Mayday bred male. One of the greatest animals I have ever owned. I was like what the f@&$ at the airport when I got him he looked like a long version of Mayday. He was always a house dog from day he got home. Got the same attention as the Redboy/jocko stock but had a better pet qualities till he turned on at about 14 months, then all hell broke lose! defiantly stayed on the chain full time after that moment.
The Redboy/jocko were all on fire by 7 months and one that left as a gift was returned! Lol.
My family has a Redboy/male I placed with them from Mims that was deep game but that was about it. Great pet and companion animal. That lucky bastered is better traveled then me lol and pushing 13!

The Mayday to R/J bitches were crazy animal from the hand full I had the chance to be around.
I have a Pit Island Redboy male and he is very well behaved but must be kept on leash at all times. My 2 year old loves him and he loves the attention. Of course I always supervise but so far no major worries and he spends most his Time on his chain spot and is not annoying on it.

I don't think all dog men would keep manbiters you had some that did and some that didn't and the one's that didn't culled those dogs appropriately. As far as pet owners handling man biters I don't see what purpose a man biter would serve as a pet I wouldn't go so far as to say all pet owners couldn't handle one we don't know all pet owners but I would agree that a man biter wouldn't serve any real purpose in a pet home.

The vast majority of manbiter's I've seen, seem to be owned by pet owner's, most of whom don't learn anything on the breed except for what they see in the media. So many idiot's get attracted to the breed by what they see in the media and seem to think the way the breed is often portrayed, is how it should act and encourage HA tendacies in their dog's.

If the dog was a man biter and any good where it mattered it was most likely traded off to another yard that didn't have a issue with it, at least that's the general consensus I'm getting from a lot of these stories.

Well I am not talking about excite biters that's not a man eater we are talking about a dog you have to throw it's meal to. We know a few were kept and bred it wouldn't take long for someone to figure out they had a man biter on there hands you can't even touch the fucker without getting bit. Bullyson got knocked over the head with a shovel for bitting his handler I don't think this is something most people with any real common sense want to deal with being in the pit where redirection is a very real thing with these dogs and having a dog that's a man eater on top of everything else makes the idea of keeping and showing one not so appealing. Winning and loosing limbs doesn't sound worth it to me there were plenty of good dogs that weren't man eaters.

The Maydays I've been around have never shown aggression towards me or anyone else.. I dont want to keep harping on it but it's no secret that many people including me think that a lot of the first generation Mayday's were actually out of Deadlift. There is no proof because Deadlift wasnt DNAed but more then a few well known oldtimers swear by it. That being said the Yellow John blood be right there and if Lukane for example is bred the way many think, he would have YJ top and bottom and man aggression would make sense.

    APBT GAMEDOG HISTORY: CH BIG'O

This dog Ch The big O is supposedly triple mayday bred being from a father daughter mating of Barracuda but how do you really know? These pedigrees are a rough guide at best. Interesting read and no doubt a very good pit dog but i would pass on a dog i had to sit in an air kennel for safety sake or tie up before breaking off another dog and run like hell in case he bit me breaking my arm.

I think man aggression is a trait like any other that comes up in individual dogs but if the line has some known man aggressive dogs in its near history the trait will come out more often. Some lines are known for being exceptionally people friendly. Sorrells is one i can think of but it may have other things fanciers don't like and of course that line will have had some man biters come out of it to.

My mayday dogs had a very high prey drive, and looked at children the same way they looked at a dog or another animal. At 2 months old they were so aggressive they could not be kept together. This wasn't taught,it just naturally occurred. My experience with the line is that they are not for homes with kids.BTW they were bred from Seek And Destroy's Hugo Verdugo with a heavy dose of Chico's Red John.
