Hi, my pups ears just got cropped 2 days ago. But the vet didn't put any tape / ear brace on his ears. He just let the ears open. Do I need to put an ear brace / ear post to help my pups ears stand? If yes, do I need to put the brace immediately or wait til his ears stitches healed? I already googled about this topic, some say you must put the brace before the stitches healed, some say wait til the stitches healed, and some say you don't need to use any ear brace if the crop aren't too long. His ears are cropped short though. And because he is cropped short and his ear tips are a little bit swollen right now, I'm not sure wether his ears are standing or not.

Oh, and what I mean with ear brace is just like a little nasal strips / soft sticks attached on the tips of the ear. Not like an actual ear posting / taping for a long crop.

I've had to dogs with cropped ears. Wait until they heal then if you need to you can use medical tape and a tampon to get them to stand

Before I realized cropping A dogs ears was not A good idea, I did it myself and just blood stopper powder, then Vaseline to keep the edge supple!

Buddy of mine did that a few times, it looked like shit when the dogs got mature and he finally stopped lol. When I was a young kid I thought that some lines of dogs just were born like that, I can remember asking my granddaddy for one of those with the little funny shaped ears when I was about 6 lol

Mine looked good I used an ear trim jig in fact several other people had me do theres. but it's not good for the dog leaves the inner ear to exposed. that ear folding over keeps a lot of stuff out.
