This little fella is doing great. Showing lots of drive and determination. Still only has his left nut, which i'm stressing about, but I decided to give him a full 6 months and hope the right one drops.

It takes months for his nuts to drop

Most documents i've read, say they should be there by around 8 weeks. Vet is already telling me he's not breeding materiel (which he my not be even with his nuts). I came here for a second opinion last week, and most of you have said to wait it out till at least 6 months.

I talked to Tom, and told him the situation, and he is willing to exchange the pup, or give me a discount on a second. So i'm just waiting it out and hope they drop.

    great looking pup!!!
what are his other defects that the vets think he is not breeding material at so young???
I thought it was a wives tale that one nut dogs cant produce but that might have been made up by the guy that had the one nut champion,,,lol...
Has anyone else ever had a one nut dog???

I would tell Tom to send a replacement and also keep the pup you have as he might have everything but that second nut,,,
    good luck...

Vet is just accustom to looking at show dogs and cautions me that if I do deciede to keep him and breed him, that he will pass this trait unto his offspring.

No other defects. Other then the undescended testicle, he is perfect.

I thought they were just less potent like shooting only one barrel off in your double barrel shotgun

Get a second opinion from a second vet that can see his nuts....we can't, I think you got some fire there....man can reproduce..so can dog.jm2c

From what I've read they can produce just fine. The issue is an increased risk of cancer in the undescended testicle, and a high probability of passing the same onto his offspring.

How do you know the pup is worth being bred? Or are you gonna breed him cuz you bought him?

In my second post, I noted that even with a fully functional set of nuts he may not be breeding material. Only time will tell.

Nice looking pup Maritimer. How is He doing how's his temperment like personality etc so far.

He's doing great. Very outgoing with a moderate prey drive, probably a little spoiled. He keeps company with a couple of tomcat's right now. He harasses and challenges the younger Tom, but is still wary of the big Tom who give him a few good smacks on day one.
