Anytime I hear either school it is usually just a sales pitch. The new school guy just took two lines he figures have never been crossed before and touts it as the next big thing. Pretty much the guy Ben described. The old school guy has some mutts he has been breeding with no other purpose than "preserving" a "pure" line going back to some big name dog or breeder. There are few out there who say old school and it actually carries weight. They have actually put time, thought and effort into breeding. They have first hand experience and knowledge of what they are trying to keep and reproduce from the old dog or line they are breeding. This guy probably won't be posting on pedsonline, facebook etc.

A good little dog I owned 10+ years ago had a pedigree with "old school" dogs in the bottom half. I was hesitant to purchase her because I never heard of these dogs. I ended up getting her because I was high on the sire. Best dog I ever owned. Long story short, I see this same "old school" blood as part of a new "rare'' line of dogs being peddled on the net. It is like fashions. What was old becomes new again. Just have to weed out the BS which is in the majority these days.
