R.I.P. Rushin Bill It's a bad deal:( Like most things the cops are involved with they either exaggerate,or flat out lie. There is no way that's 140,000 worth of weed.I think cops like to blow it up to make them look more important. What they showed wasn't alot of marijuana. They try and make a big deal about 40 guns, that's really not that many.I know lots of people who own more than 40 guns, nothing illegal about collecting. It's sad he killed himself,if he did in fact commit suicide. Not saying he didn't but I do know some very, very corrupt cops,so IDK Anyway,it's a very unfortunate thing that happened and my sympathy goes out to his family.RIP

I don't think anyone here is 60 years old, a vet of 'nam, or even knows the guys personal life, physical/mental health condition, to be able to judge his way of leaving his life on earth. but to each his own, i don't judge cuz i know my hands ain't clean.

As for the weed, that could be accurate depending on what it is. It is not uncommon for certain strains of indoor to go for 400 an oz in some places. It depends on how it was bagged. The smaller its bagged the more profit gained but the longer time it takes. If it was some good, 400 an oz X 16 = 6400 a pound X 5 = could easily be 30k. So its really no tellin how they came up with that number. Depends on what he had and if it was wrapped for distrubution.

They failed to mention if the guns were registered to him or legally owned by a family member or friend... the fact that there was 40 guns in the home doesn't make him a criminal.

the media strikes again with their lies.. i agree thats an insane price marked up for that weed.. i also dont see their need for talking about his firearms.. i have a few... they're all legal. so what. i also have holes in my blinds... from dogs fucking them up. perfect squares.. stupid a-hole dogs  he has the right to do anything with his legal guns as he wishes, if he wants to place them in to "scary" spots, thats his right. RIP man.

magnoilaotis: I don't care if he was a veteran of WWI, WWII, Korea AND Vietnam all put together. Heck, I don't give a flip if if he was the President of the United States. Taking your life to avoid just punishment (IF that's what he did) is a rank move no matter who you are or what accolades you've accomplished in your past.

Now if his suicide was a result of PTSD or some other service related disability, I could understand that. But from what we know so far, it wasn't. From the info we have now it appears he cops found him, were ready to arrest him & to avoid having to take his medicine he shot himself (allegedly).

To me, killing yourself to avoid consequences that you knew could occur when you engaged in whatever endeavor you chose is rank. He knew what he was doing was illegal when he was doing it & he knew what the consequences would be if he got caught. But when he got caught instead of facing the music, he jumped the wall by committing suicide (allegedly anyway). Killing oneself to avoid just punishment is rank & there is no honor in that no matter who you are. Call it self-righteous if you want, but if it's tight, it's right.

However, I most certainly feel sorry for his family.

High Coast Hiker: Cur's way out? Yes, IMO it was. Just like a game dog is in charge of it's own life & has the right to scratch or jump, man does as well. When faced with the prospect of actually having to deal with the consequences of his actions instead of staying in there & facing the music, he jumped the wall to get out of it. Whether those of you here who idolized him want to admit it or not, there is absolutely no honor in his suicide. He wanted to play, but he didn't want to not pay & to me that is rank.

Now, does that make him less of an honorable vet, good dog man, good breeder, good educator, etc.? No. He is still all those things. He's just not "game." Wheh push came to shove, he chose the "easy" way out instead of facing his opponents head on & taking what he had coming to him. But again, that is JMHO.

As for the "perfect shoes" I do hope you are not implying that I am perfect or that think I am HCK. I am far from it. Heck, I myself have had suicidal thoughts & impulses due to a combination of depression, PTSD & the seizure meds I am on. But even though my life is FAR from great & that I have many, many regrets & that am far indeed from perfect, I have yet to jump the wall & give in to those impulses. I went & got help.

    venom: Good post

brindlexpitt: I think they made a big deal about the guns to gussy up the story. Drug farming & pit bull fighting? What could make the story better & more sensational? How about expounding on how many guns he had, where he had them & that he had "port holes" cut out of his blinds!! They likely did it to sell more papers.

Oh well. This is just my .02 on the matter. You can take it for what it's worth - about .02. And while I do not agree with how he chose to handle the situation, my condolences certainly go out to his family & friends. It's always a tragedy when someone passes, no matter how the mode.

    Blessings ...

I've not been to California so I can't comment on the prices there, but I've seen a butt load of weed in Arkansas(don't smoke anymore but know several who do) and never have I seen any $400 an oz stuff in Arkansas. As far as the guns, even if they're not registered, you can do a FTF transaction legally.I really believe they're making it bigger than it is.They want to make gun and bulldog owners look bad in the media and they're using it to juice up an otherwise normal pot bust.Just like the cop talking about squares in the window blinds to shoot from. That might of been more interesting and believable if it would of been a shootout instead of suicide.

A nationally-known dog fighting ringleader is dead after officials are called to his home because of a brush fire.

Crews responded to the home of William Stewart, 63, Thursday night, but discovered an underground dog fighting ring, more than 100 marijuana plants, two boa constrictors, anti-government pamphlets and nearly 40 weapons. Deputies say all the weapons were loaded proving Stewart was ready to defend his property, but they say he killed himself before there was any confrontation.

Much of Stewart's incredible impact across the nation was because of the Pit Bull Reporter, a magazine he published for nearly two decades out of his home in Romance. He used his publication's reach to spread expert analysis of a sadistic sport.

    (Desiree Bender, Humane Society)
"Every person that was a wannabe dog fighter, a hobbyist, a street fighter, kids, elderly, anybody that had anything to do with dog fighting or game-bred pit bulls knew Bill Stewart and 'Rushin' Bill'."

The magazine included a "Show News" section: a description of dog fights across the globe. Stewart published the Reporter until 2007. He once even ran a website supporting the publication: PBReport.com.

    (Desiree Bender, Humane Society)
"The publications that he put out fed the dog fighting world, fed what was going around all over the country. So it just fueled it more and more and more."

Stewart was far from a detached observer. He bred and fought many pit bulls himself.

    (Desiree Bender, Humane Society)
"He is one big name that we are glad is out of the business now."

Deputies Thursday found a pit bull fighting ring, two dogs and enough chains for 40 more.

    (Desiree Bender, Humane Society)
"It's a happy day that this man won't be breeding, selling, training or fighting dogs."

The Humane Society will help find suitable homes for the two dogs rescued from Stewart's property.

Regardless of your opinion of yourself, you have no idea what that man's life or health was like and therefore have little right to judge his choice.
Sitting out what could be a life sentence and having every aspect of ones life controlled would not have made him more of a man, in my opinion.
Truth be told, most would not have had the balls to make the choice he did. So, perhaps you could try to be just a little more empathetic between your walks on water.

Out here in CA when they raid a grow they get street value by weighing the wet plants which is ALL water weight. With dry bagged weed they get the value by valuing at $20 a gram.

oh so "christian" of you ABK. call bill a cur before we even know what really happened. I've seen many people like you who wear their faith on their sleeve always reminding others how "blessed" you are while hostility and hate seep from under your skin.
