Looking for superior cross ideas.

I have a really nice Colby/Jeep/Redboy female. She truly is a great dog with everything I have ever wanted. I understand she is already an outcross but I am still looking for another great game outcross with a proven relevent bulldog. I have already brought this outcross back to pure Colby with great prevail. Just want to open the door for another true recent game line to then bring back to Colby later on. I have been looking at options rather extensively as of late. There are too many ways to go. All opinions with be acknowledged. Thank you.

 

COLBY/JEEP/REDBOY is "NOT" a cross 2 many indivuals read peds from l-r, instead of r-l... JMHO!

 

I understand what you are saying. There is a lot of Colby in there down the line a ways. Up top pure Colby from Lou and bottom is real paper pretty with Tab, tabbygirl, werdo, weird jack, gator, black girl, black jack all in second and third gen. However I am still pursuing an outcross like I said to a relevant game bulldog in recent times. Just not sure what direction to go or who is open to stud. I have been eyeballing ironline though.

 

I emphasize "pretty paper pedigree" but she is something else. a ball of fire.

 

I like what your trying to do with the Colby blood really I do but IMHO you shouldnt be looking for big name bulldogs with publicity. Thats just gonna get you in a bind for something your not doing. I like the way you think though. Can you send me a ped on the gyp you looking for breed. Im a better visual thinker.:cool:

 

Brindle blood/Gatormouth Lmao!! Use proven dog's and run it to proven dog's. But even then nothing is promised. You will have bad and good in any breeding.

No, no. I am saying she has pretty papers and thats not the big deal. The big deal is she truly is a great hound. Thats why i emphasize pretty papers because i know it is not that big of a deal.

 

I was sarcastically pronouncing the pretty papers because it is common practice to discredit a curr with pretty papers. however the internet makes sarcasm serious when not properly noted. so i do apologize.

 

I do not have a pedigree posted for the bitch. I have to get on top of that. Her direct grandfather is woodalls weird jack and grandmother is mainlines pretty. Then up top grandparents are Colbys molly and russels Colby cordon. I know that is not much help. HA! she wouldnt be a disapointment if any of you were to meet her.

My girls dam was Mainline's Shady whos sired by Woodall's Weird Jack and the dam to her was Mainline's Pretty who was sired by Whites tab jr... Sorry I am not on peds online as of yet.

 

the only way to have a "superior cross" is to begin with "superior individuals"
just because a similar breeding has worked between x and y bloodline in past, does not mean if you breed any dog from X bloodline to Y bloodline that you will get similar results.

you should breed for a purpose and breed animals who have traits that you wish to pass to their offspring. not because theyre off so and so so in need to breed it to whatever.

have a purpose for the animals you are producing and if you dont likely its not a good idea to be breeding...
and if you have to come online asking what a "superior cross" is chances are you dont know what a superior dog is and have no true reason to be breeding any bulldog.

 

woodalls weird jack stuff is what i run real nice dogs but what i was going to say is that it crosses pretty good with everything and throws a high percentage good luck with your hounds

 

This entire forum is for opinions. Honestly my bitch has got it all. I guess Im just trying to get great game dogs from one other strain to eventually bring back to Colby. I personally believe Colbys were pure for a long time, too long maybe. So I guess I am trying to bring a little more game back there to all the brains and ability of Colby. I have read all the books and I have found my purpose. I am outsourcing opinions only, not for someone to be a dousche. I am not looking for a particular strain to breed to, I am looking at individuals and their offspring. If somebody had decent reading comprehension they would have understood that immediately. I have only been highly into bulldogs for a few years and am learning more daily and I thought thats what this site was about.
