The best ever, she changed the game completely with her breedings and dogs.

I second that. And yes, there were some very great dog women. Some well known and some not so much.

  7. Im on my phone, so if this reply is posted twice I am really sorry... & I am sorry that this thread was posted twice-it was not intentional. Thank you for the information (: I will def. research her & try and find some other dogwomen. I posted this mainly because someone I talked to also said I shouldn't even bother with game dogs because women aren't noticed in the game..wich I didn't appriciate being told.lol.

One of my mentors was a woman. She was stubborn as hell and set in her ways. Her way or nothing.

I used to buy dogs from a dog woman . years ago hailmary she was a peddler to a lot but we got some good ones . the good thing about a woman is you can allways buy a good one if they have one, money talks with a dogwoman thats for sure. LOL

A woman looked after WCCs yard taking care of the dogs and breedings when the man of the house was away. Wouldn't be a stretch at all to consider her a dog woman. Knew her way around a bulldog than most men.

Can't forget Pat Carver. She has my vote for #1. The woman was married to a legend and still owned her own bulldogs!

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Jo Ann LeBlanc and I can't say enough good things. She once told me that after Roger had past, someone had asked what she was going to do with all those dogs. Her response was, "Honey,... I'm keepin' 'em! Just who in the heck do you think has been feeding all these dogs for all these years!" Just a good ol', tuff, Southern woman.

Curious. I seen a add in a old AGDT that The Carolina Kitten, Katie Marlowe was working on a book. Anybody know if that book ever materialized?
