probably all has to do with dominant and recessive traits... so im guessing so. the more isolated the genes are though the more likely you will get red. So if u got like the last 5 gens being red dogs... you're going to produce reds cuz them other traits from past dogs will not show. you can also get a lot of problems doing this.

What if the rednosed dogs both had black genes? its like can two brown eyed people have a blue eyed baby, yes.

I'm not an expert on genetics but 2 blue eyed humans cannot have a brown eyed child,so if i go from that basis im going to say no because they both carry the recessive gene dominantly so all pups should be red nose not 100% but seems like its pretty logical thinking

two blue eyed parents can have a brown eyed child... its not common because blue eyes are a result of weakened genes that determine eye color and this is passed to the child. but blue eyed ppl do have brown eyed babies. and brown eyed parents definitely have light eyed children, both my parents have deep brown eyes and mine are green as result of both my parents having that recessive trait somewhere.

i did a search about the 2 blue eyed people and it confirms 2 blue eyed people can have a brown eyed child but i swear when i was in school they told us that it was genetically impossible

No, two rednosed dogs can't produce a black pigmented dog. Not ALL genes are recessive (meaning that just because something in in the bloodline somewhere, it doesn't mean it can pop up later on), and when in doubt, Punnett squares are your friend. ;)

"Rednose" is caused by double recessive or homozygous brown ("bb") acting on black pigment, so a black masked fawn will turn red rednose and a solid black will turn chocolate, etc. If a dog only has ONE recessive brown gene, it won't express it, but it will carry for it and pass it to a percentage of its pups.

Here's "bb" bred to "bb" using a Punnett square. The only possibly outcome at this locus is "bb" so every puppy will be brown/liver/chocolate/whatever you want to call it but "rednose."

True red/rednoses cant have black genes. Red is recessive. Black is dominant. If there were black genes they would express themselves and the dogs could not be red/rednose. Now a chocolate rednose is a different story as that has black genes and can produce a black nose dog.

A chocolate rednose is a black dog, it's just a black dog hymozygous for liver. A red rednose is a black masked fawn homozygous for liver. Either one of those can produce a black nosed pup, but not when they're bred to another rednosed dog (whether that be red rednose, chocolate, choc brindle, etc).

There's dominant black, and there's agouti. Either way, if the dog was "bb" all of the black coat and skin pigment would be liver, so you'd end up with either a chocolate dog or a chocolate sable.
