can two of the same sex get along?

when my bitch has her pups could i keep another female, and have them live in the same house?

 

Asking for trouble, even if they would have grew up together, IMO.

 

It depend's on the dog's these dog's are Da by genetic's so even if they are the same sex or opposite sex there is always the possibility when the dog's begin to mature they will not get along. If your going to keep two or more bulldog's in the same home make sure you have 2 or more crates or solid chain set up's you never leave these dog's unattended for any reason. Never trust em not to fight and be prepared to separate. Always live by that saying and you won't have any issues.

 

Sadielues got it covered, you can keep one but you will always have to separate when they are unsupervised and one day you'll probably have to keep them separate 100% of the time.

 

If your going to look for sighns of compition over things getting more and more aggresive.Keep a break stick.Some will fight to make you proud.So no egging on hard play at all.I got some dogs that will hang with the same sex(outside)once they in the house not one dog will alloy the same sex in,and that goes for the one's that grew up together.And be prepared to sepperate them permenitly.It's a touchy situation,I would advise against it.

Even if you keep a male, there's a good chance they will one day get into a good one eventually. Even if supervised ( most likely it will happen while being supervised due to competing for something or another in your presence, you should never leave 2 APBT's together and no one around, ever, even opposite sexes). It comes down to either keep one and raise it outside or, learn to know the signs of competition like was said before and be prepared to have to house them seperately if it comes down to it. We keep 2 dogs, both females inside together more time than not without incident. Ones 5 and ones 2. Just know the signs and triggers for potentially escalating scenarios and how to avoid them and it can be done, depending on the individual dog of course, there are alot of them you'll find that will hit a certain age and they just wont tolerate any other dogs period.

I would never recommended a novice owner to attempt it. Not saying that's the case, just saying.

I can agree with that AGK ... Right now I have a pup who will be 1 soon. And an adult female. I see my younger male trying to dominate the older female. Now at first it was cute because he was a pup and she would tolerate him and his brattiness. But now it's becoming more and more intense to where when they play it's gotten so ruff that he has left marks on her face so needless to say these days they don't play as much as they did before. Granted they haven't had an all out war but I can see that coming it's only a matter of time so I choose to take action before it happens because I know it's coming. These dog's can be the best of friends one minute and turn on like a light switch without warning. And I own one of each male and female. Bulldog's don't always pick and choose their battles if they want to fight they will. Once those genetic's kick in there is no turning back. If your someone who doesn't have much breed experience in raising these dog's and breaking up fight's and being able to learn the signs of competition as AGK has mentioned it's best you get more experience under your belt before you attempt at raising multiple bulldog's in one home and allowing them to interact.

I know how it is sadieblues, have a bitch that wil tolerate pups and their behaviour until they are half way her size then she decides it is enough and wil get at them.
If a person doesn't know the signs and has no experience in breaking up fights, i would say don't do it.

it just depends on the individual dogs because i own a miniature pinscher and a pit and some times the min pin will bully the pit out of its food

The will probably be real close, so close even you couldn't get them off of eachother.

 

it has been known for them to get along, even a few pit champions BUT you would need to be vigilant at all times and its probably not worth the risks

 

As long as they each have there own chainspot.

Don't do it. I have had trouble even with 2 dogs of the opposite sex. Asking for big trouble.
