If the dog's pooping when he's not immediately there to pick it right up it's going to eat it. I have seen dogs shit and right after they shit they start eating it. Some dogs like the taste of it ... Pumpkin or Pineapple will leave a foul taste in the stool so if he's not there to pick it up when it happens the dog won't eat it because of the taste.

Lee i see what your saying man.I have never had puppies that would eat till they explode ,I found in my case when the feed is available all the time they only eat what they need.i have never saw one over eat.And yeah pickin up the dog crap is a great idea. But if the OP is like me he has to work at least 8 hrs a day.You cant be there to pick it up everytime it hits the ground lol.u know what i mean.

once again, it's not the dawgs, it's the owner.

if you feed the dawgs appropriately and not ALL the time or over feed, then one CAN be there to clean up the shit.

Jim if it's a young pup they have accidents lol It doesn't matter if you free feed them or only feed them at certain times. Young pups have to be potty trained and don't come out the womb knowing when it's appropriate to eliminate that's something they learn over time and as they grow. So I would have to disagree with you.

You tell me how an 8 week old pup knows when it's appropriate to use the bathroom lol Every pup I have ever had and raised since birth even taking them out regularly had accidents in it's crate and I don't free feed and never have. My older dogs are fully potty trained but the younger ones still are prone to accidents and these pups are fed once a day! So again I will have to disagree with you.

it does matter darling but of course you disagree. you're a perfect human.

yes, an 8 week old pup can and does know when it's appropriate. the human is the one that learns over time, well very few anyway.

feel free to delete this post like the other ones. i won't be mad at'cha.

an 8 week old pup knowing its not cool the shit in the kennel is believable... but being able to hold it? unlikely

so kennels are appropriate for small pups? or owners?

i don't use kennels and all of the pups i've raised and am currently raising know.

It has nothing to do with being perfect I don't need to delete your posts to tell you that you are very wrong. A young puppy does not know when it's appropriate to use the bathroom if they did they would be fully potty trained out the womb again they have to learn and their bladders and bowels strengthen over time pups at this age can't hold it as long as an adult dog and eliminate when they get overly excited or when they are full they have no concept of knowing when to go where to go and when it's appropriate that is something they learn from the owner and that takes a lot of time. You seem to have a problem with others disagreeing with you get over it this is the internet and not everyone is going to agree with you. And I have never deleted any of your posts and would never delete them just because we don't agree on something. The only time a post gets deleted is when you violate the rules.

So where do you put pups? If you don't crate or kennel them? You let them run around loose? And when you leave?

lol @ the human learns when its appropriate for the puppy to eliminate. thats some backwards dog whisperer rambling. the puppy learns when and where to do its business

i feel like this thread got hijacked. trying to keep it to helping this person figure out why his pup is eating feces and not silly semantics over who teaches who

  15. I switched my pup to raw at around 4 months, before the switch I kept her bowl full as I have with every every pup on kibble before her. During the switch she would wolf down the occasional turd with this look of shame on her face, like a guilty pleasure lol- I was not excited. I want to say the puppy vitamins from petco helped too, as it was clearly a digestive issue in our case- and the poo eating stopped in roughly 4 weeks.

  17. ooo, fair warning, the puppy vitamins caused a few digestive problems of their own at first, definetly ease your pup onto them slowly.
