I'm new here on game dog and i'm from Mexico. I will get a new brand doggy friend this December. Actually he is going to be my very first dog and i want an American Pitbull and i'm reading all what i can about dogs and the respective training they need.

So, here's the thing: I'm in contact with two breeders, one of them have a cute blue nose puppy that looks very nice. He sent me the picture of his dad... this is the picture:

He told me that its an American Pitbull but actually I see something that looks some kind of unfamiliar on the shape of his head. All pitbulls a have watched look the head more like a circle and the mouth not so out.

Can you guys with the simple watch of the pic can tell me if it seems like a legit American Pitbull or its some sort of scam?

    Thank you!

  2. This may not be the board for you, use the search function to get most of the answers your looking for but the ? your asking can't be answered by just a pic......jmo

That is a pic of what is referred to as an bully or Am bully. Some people think they're the APBT (American Pit Bull Terrier) but they're not. There's lots of those around and while several people like them,we prefer the APBT or the game bred dogs. It's as legit as a bully gets but they're not the same dog as the APBT. I wouldn't necessarily say a scam but misinformation about the breed would probably be more like it. If we can help or answer any questions, feel free to ask.

Not trying to run you off, you're always welcome to read up and learn here (that's is what the forum is for after all) but you might also check out Pitbull Chat (another forum similar to this but geared more toward that type of dog, actually several here are members of both)

Looks to be an American Bully and falls more along the lines of a Classic Bully just going off what I can see from the picture you posted of the sire. But a picture can't give you anymore information than what the dog looks like physically. These are some good sites that will at least give you an idea of what each breed should look like standard wise.

Really the only way to know for sure what you are getting is to first deal with someone who is reputable and trustworthy I can't stress how important this is when buying a dog. Second is to have a pedigree wether it's through a reputable registry or a hand written pedigree from a trustworthy breeder.

A pedigree will give you a basic outline of where your dog comes from its family history so to speak.

If I were you I would stick around some and read more up the American Pit Bull Terrier and decide if this is the breed that is right for you. There is a lot of good information here regarding the breed.

I would also recommend you joining Pit Bull Chat Forum - Home this board has a lot of information on the other breeds I mentioned as well such as the American Staffordshire Terrier, and the American Bully. Where as this forum the main focus is primarily the American Pitbull Terrier, or other working breeds such as the Staffordshire Terrier.

Another Thing Blue nose is not a breed or any indication of how a dog is bred or what bloodlines the dog comes from it's simply the color of a dogs nose nothing more.

Please let us know if we can help you and good luck with your search for a new dog.

you have tons of good breeders in MEX. And tons of Hella good dogs. there is a lot of conformation show and weight pulls that are starting to become popular in mex.do some research I suggest you read and learn about the breed find out what a true American Pit Bull Terrier is and then get in contact with a good breeder in mex.and tell them what you want the dog for and they will point you in the right direction if they don’t have what you are looking for its not hard to find them in MEX

This pups actually dont have pedigree. Here on México dogs with pedigree or those who become from professional breeders are very very expensive. Honestly, i have the time and the money for thebasic care and training, but i really dont have the money to get a pedigree pitbull. So, im gonna stick to my posibilities and find someone to trust that the dog he is selling me is a pitbull. Thats the reason i came here looking for the answer with the simple picture. I hope that you dont see me as a careless first time owner. I really want to have a dog, give him love and train him properly.

Some people don't need help finding a bulldog because they don't need one.

I wrote you a PM with info about "pedigree pitbulls" and your explanation is absolutely erroneous, because APBTs can be bought in Mexico relatively inexpensive, if you know who to contact, and I offered to help, so I am calling bullshit.

This "pitbull" you got, please get it neutered and never ever, ever, ever, ever think about breeding it.
