Collars. Bulldog supply Co. VS Stillwater

Just wanting to hear people's opinions on these two great looking collars. They look very similar.

Do either make collars for pups?

 

I think both are good but I do use Stillwater.I have some friends that use Bulldog Supply with no complaints.

 

BSC hands down.

 

Our collar from Shane is great. The deerskin lining helps prevent her neck from getting irritated.

i havent used bsc so cant comment, but shane is brilliant to deal with, his stuff is top notch and his prices are hard to match like for like ,

 

I'll reiterate the thoughts on Stillwater. Shane is great to deal with and he has great stuff along with prices. Never used BDC so I can't comment on them.

 

I've used both, use Stillwater much more frequently. Like Shane's collars better.

 

Shane's a great guy and honest dogman. The BSC collars hold up better for me on the chain. I've had to retire some of Shane's 3 plys early.

 

Only difference I've seen is that BSC seems to have steel eyelets, whereas Stillwater looks like the eyelet is just punched through the collar?

Is this correct?

 

Both just have punches. The bulldog supply collars are a stiffer, tougher feeling collar when you first put your hands on them. Haven't had an issue with them stretching on the chain. They also don't us the Velcro which I'm not a fan of on Shane's

 

Seems like the BSC collar I got once was totally nylon without the flexible seat belt material mixed in........too stiff in my opinion. The seat belt ply is a bit easier on the neck.
Overtymekennels made me a collar I really liked too.

 

Not a velcro fan either..........I don't think the 5 plys come with velcro.

 

Shane replaced the velcro, which I myself loved, with a elastic sleeve that the excess collar goes thru.

 

Got a Stillwater collar last May at a show. LOVE it. price was great. It was one of his
newest kind. has like these 1/2 circle rubber tubes inside. If they get wet they won't smell like felt
or leather. it's a blue/grey Urban camo design. wide width. Since I use my Male as a "guard" dog,
I only put the collar on him on the weekends when I have him out on the porch. This way when anybody
comes by and he "goes off" at them it doesn't give him any negative stimulus. Yeah Yeah I know... people
shouldn't use pits for Man-bite work. Correct, the average person shouldn't/ couldn't. I've owned Rotties,
GSD, Dobies, Dutch shepherds and Corsos. I've worked dogs with arm sleeves. leg sleeves and advanced muzzle work.
My Tab bitch wears a BLOCKY DOG collar, also good quality...but $$$ !

 

Honestly, Stillwater, BSC and Overtyme Kennels all have good products and not much of a price difference. What I would prob suggest is picking one and sticking with them for all your needs, that way you develop a relationship with whichever you choose and probably save a little in long run because of the "return customer discount".

Never BSC but i have used Shane collars i think i bought five from 3ply 4ply and 5ply well two the best one is th 5ply and they hold up real good even send me a shirt for free with one of my collars
