Has Anyone Tryed* A Human Tread Mill On There Dogs? Do They Work As Goods As The Dog Mills ? Is There Any Danger I Need To Know About Before Trying It?

Slat mill or a carpet mill would be better suited for your dog cause he's working it him self. The motorized ones he's not working it so he might run awkward cause he's not setting the pace he's more a less just rying to keep up with the machine. But I have heard people use them and get good results and some get bad results.I guess it all depends on how you work your dog.

Actually a lot of people use motorized treadmills. It is not that hard to modify one for a dog.

VERY TRUE. THE KEY WITH ANY MILL WORK IS TO PREPARE THE DOG FOR IT, AND NEVER [USH HIM TOO HARD. REGARDLESS OF THE MILL (SLAT,E, OR CARPET).

Best bet to get one is in the "buy and sell" and get a used one for cheap. Also you can get them from Wal-mart and if anything goes wrong with it Wal-mart will replace it with a new one!

I wasn't about to spend a few hundred on a carpet mill, so I went to the thrift store a few blocks from my house, asked them if they had any broken treadmills donated lately that I could have, and they just gave me one. If you don't want it to be motorized just don't turn it on! It works great.

Treadmill SHREDmill, garbage, all should be in the garbage. Will never use 1 again. Just for lazy owners (my opinion) caused my dogs 2 cramp up. Treadmill keeps the dog running in one place and doesnt work EVERYTHING. Use an ATV, it allows them to move everyway and turn everyway. But then again, its just my opinion

i personally use an atv and run next to my truck..but if you want to talk lazy..then why don't you get out there and run w/your dogs....didn't think so...i only use a treadmill on rainy days or really cold days.

Like stated before..to each their own..what ever suits your needs and your dog. Stick with what your dog does best on. Give your dog 100% and he'll give you 110%

And its a good one, I use an electric in pre keep only, too remove all the belly and rib fat, at this stage you aint to worried aobut his heart rate and work load, I just do them on the electric a little at a time like you were walking him, but when they get to true weight out comes the good trusty ol' Scwhinn 10 Speed, no better keep than a free one IMO, you cant tell when a dog wants to break stride on an electric mill... The only Mill id ever consider using for the whole keep would be a free turning one so you can tell when your dog wants to rest naturally. If you just want to use it for exercise a electric will be fine, they learn how to go on one quick and you can build then up on one like you were walking them on lead, if your pressed for time.

Can't agree anymore......"Stick to what you dog likes best and also to what tools you have available!"

Some of the best (STP) conditioned there's with an e-mill....you just gotta use common sense when conditioning your dog and have a good eye for dogs when there being worked!

I use as many tools as my dogs will use!

I use one. It serves its purpose. Can't say I like it better than a slat or carpet mill but it'll do the job. It's pretty easy to convert a e-mill for a dog. Just have to build the 2 walls and connect them with 2 - 2x4's across the top for the the lead to attach the dogs collar too to keep em put.

Thanks ! The summers here are grueling and Walking isn’t always an option even when the weather is nice Ilive been eyeing my girls Tread mill I already have equipment but I been spending a lot of time here with my girl but I don’t want her too see to much of my business women and they’re family are nosy and in this case google is my enemy for the record I have no worry’s because I don’t do anything illegal I just don’t like it when people ask me questions like why do you need that ? what is that for ? how come ? Just to get stupid responses like “Why don’t you just let them run around at the dog park Fido has so much fun there you should give it a try there is some many other dogs to play with “
