I don’t know anything about his past issues at all so I cannot comment or judge…
These things I do know.
Personal experience was all business and both parties professionally handled their respected prize fighters (Boxers) and the better ones were victorious that day…
Now would I own something from him… Most likely, but I definitely would not pay that kind of $…

I think somethings came up and the WBC told him to lay low I know someone to try to buy a dog from the idiot and he asked him what breeding he had available and he said why does it matter? Why does it matter I think it should matter if you’re going to pay that kind of money for a dog to at least know what breeding you’re getting it from! I’m not interested in this dog I don’t hate them I don’t like them but the fucken Moron talks too much shit! Holy Snit, this weasel lived right by me. I liked how his Macho Buck dog was bred and actually talked to him....what a shit bag! This was 12 years ago and he wanted nearly 3 grand for a pup. If I recall, he had great pedigrees but everything up front was unproven. I think he worked at a bank and was very evasive. My gut told me "stay away" even though I loved how his dogs were bred and liked that he was close so I could look at what he had.

Chico got in dogs shortly after I did.... when I met him he was a dirt bag, 15 years later when we met again he was a total fucking shit bag. I'm a great judge of character for the most part. I was spot on about him as a dogman!

 

Sounds like you're confusing evolution with Chico. Chico was evo's clout chasing dick rider. And that was short lived itself. Chico never owned gr ch macho buck. He had a son of MB he was given for being around during that time but to my knowledge never owned MB. As far as evo's dogs not being proven quite a few aren't but quite a few still go to active folks who have success with them.

 

When I said Mach Buck dog I meant heavy bred Macho Buck. I am quite certain I have the right person, he lived in the Houston area. I did not know that some of the dogs were tested, so I have to give him credit for that. Prices were still quite outrageous, keep in mind we hav had extraordinary inflation since then and $3K would be 5k into days dollars.

 

Except evo worked at the bank in h town not Chico....

OK, so to be clear: Evolution kennels is in Houston, and Chico Lopez is in Mexico. I just looked at their web site and see they are still selling dogs. I still like that blood, but they/he wants how much?

Yes as I've repeatedly stated you were talking to and about Evolution.

Last I checked his site prices were posted. I don't get hung up on what another man asks for his time, work, or risk. If I want it I spend it. If I don't agree with price I just pass on it.

If I was in the business of selling pups my prices would reflect my time, money, energy, risk, etc and it would put my pups at a price most will bitch about. But my property is worth as much as I value it at.

 

Both will sell you a dog it'll just be an arm and a leg, possibly your first born as well. I still vividly remember the skull dragging he gave Chico all over pedsonline a few years ago. Think it's posted it on here to somewhere, might even be back in the beginning of this particular thread.. It paints a pretty good picture of the man's character. If I had to choose one though I'd go with Evo.

I don't want it to seem like I'm defending the man but if you sell dogs you get that way sometimes lol. People are dumb AF anymore and they will waste your time like it don't mean shit to them, because it don't.

I deal with some of those questions myself constantly and it is annoying. Especially since 8 out 10 people you'll stop to take the time and talk to have no real intention on buying, just talking dogs with you. Now I don't slang dogs anywhere near what that man does however between email, DM, texts, calls, emails and any other way people can and will contact you, they ask all the information that you already provided in the ad or wherever they seen you advertise. Out of the 2 left 1 will be stand up and immediately start making arrangements and pay in full, transport be on the way while the other wants to lay-a-way the pup for months and then, when they are fully paid in full, will take another 2 months to get a transport or pick the pup up in person with no regard to the fact you are now caring for the dog for extra weeks while slow poke drags their feet getting their dog they paid for a month ago. People generally just take advantage of others kindness in such disrespectful ways. I wouldn't ever put a page like that up as I do agree, that it is ignorant. However, I can't say the same shit don't go through my mind when someone contacts me for a dog, pup or whatever. I've been in the dogs about 25 years and one thing you learn in this particular breed of dog is that 8 out of 10 are total fucking scum bag type individuals. I try hard myself to not be that way or entertain it but people have absolutely no respect for others anymore and definitely do not respect your time. It's pretty rare these days.

First, you are absolutely correct, this endeavor probably has a higher percentage of fucktards than any on the planet. All the things you mention must be incredibly maddening. I did one breeding (I was planning on doing another but did not mostly for the reasons you mention) and breeding these dogs is probably one of the worst ways to make money possible. I was lucky in the one breeding I did because there were a lot of people who wanted the blood, and a one other that wanted a pet but was very experienced with the breed and knew how to handle them. So my dogs were pretty much gone by the time they hit 6 weeks, and I got the one I wanted. In fact, and this is my opinion, there is only one reason to breed, and that is to get the dog you want. As I mentioned, even though sales were easy I still made about $4 an hour, many of those hours dealing with poop and cleaning. I got the dog I wanted which made the whole thing worth it. The guys that are really serious should breed because they love the dogs and want to perpetuate excellence. Maybe I am naive, but that is why you breed. AKG, you fit this mold.

If you have a yard and do more breedings then there will be more dogs from your line than you have people lined up to get them. So on top of the low pay you have to deal with an endless line of idiots. I get that.

However, does bad behavior justify worse behavior? If someone like you (AKG) can act decent and professional, then I think others can follow suit. I am old, and was lucky to have some conversations with Bert Sorrels, who was always a gentleman. I spent (many) hours on the phone with Mike (Norrod) and except talking your ear off, LOL, he was alway polite. I was blessed to get breeding from Gary (half owner of Haunch) and he was an amazing guy who was wonderful to work with.

Maybe I am living in a fantasy world, and read too many Stratton books, but this, as far as I experienced, used to be a gentlemans game.

As far as tire kickers, today I don't have much money (I have a nice house that is paid for and some retirement, but no big cash flow) but back when I called Evo (not Chico) I would gladly have dropped $3k on a dog and had the money easily. If he was halfway polite I would have spent the money in a heartbeat, as I wanted that Macho Buck blood. I ended up driving several thousand miles/renting a hotel so I spent nearly that anyways. Unfortunately I was so turned off by him I stayed away. My belief was that the quality of dogs comes down to the quality of the man...but then again, hey, what do I know.
