You keep saying that but the only one who should be embarrassed in any of your exchanges should be you. You're just too dense to realize everyone(literally everyone) is laughing at you.

Tell us more about puma, Chico, Evo, machobuck, or haunch. We're all waiting for this knowledge dump that's going to embarrass us..

Back to the topic, the Dow Jones has lost more than 20% in the last year. Gas is $6 a gallon. I love to talk dogs. However, this sub forum is expressly for non dog talk. I will ask you in one of he dog sub forums of your opinion of the Lil Fatal/Gretchen breeding, just not here.

Now Ben, what we are engaging in is good vigorous substantive debate, definitely not bickering. You think that market collapses are OK, I, and most economists do not, depending upon the impact upon the larger economy. As I have stated I think we are in a situation where the double whammy we are seeing bodes ill for our economy. Now, what is my main thesis? I believe that the problem is, to a very large degree driven by policies of the White House and the far left factions that control the House of Representatives. Therefore my conclusion is that we must vote these people out of office. People like AOC., Conyers, Waters, et al. They are also driving policies that destroy our liberties.

Now, some my disagree. You probably fall into this camp. Some, like the Political Economist George Edwards believe that presidents have very little impact upon the economy. That is the main claim of his book, "At The Margins." It is called that because Edwards believes that presidential influence is marginal. I disagree in our current situation because presidential power, coupled with congressional support extends that power beyond the margins.

1/3 of new millionaire's are immigrants and have been for years. Do you really think that they give two shit about who is in office. The great part about this country is that anyone can make it no matter the current economic or political climate. It's not a God given right to be successful and everyone has the right to fail. Market crashes that just means there's money to be made. You seem scared and business minded people understand how to take advantage. Crypto been crashing and I been buying don't give a shit if kernel sanders was president.

Ben, your logic is not consistent here. You make a generalized claim about America being the land of opportunity and you are probably right. If you are right, and lets say that you are, what created he conditions for that opportunity? The answer is the political system. Free markets are the product of a theoretical construct that was operationalized by the US Constitution. The logic of free markets came from the Wealth of Nations which had a profound influence upon the founders. The US Constitution is as much an economic document as it is a political document. It is extremely unique in that regard.

Today we have in office/power people who desire to curb these free markets by substituting governmental control. I posit that excessive governental control is destructive of free markets. If we put 2 and 2 together we see that your ability to make profits is 100% contingent upon free markets, the very markets that our incumbents in the Oval Office and Congress wish to destroy.

A good example is capital gains taxes. When you make profits that money is taxed. Conservatives want a lower tax while liberals want a much higher tax, as much as 40%. So you see, it does matter, very much who is in power. Imagine if nearly half the money you made in crypto was confiscated by the government?

Lol the opportunity has always been there it's written on the statue of liberty. The constitution is basically a a business plan just as the country is a business. To believe that the politicians work for the people is laughable at best. When you're in jeopardy of going bankrupt you won't get bailout however corporations will get bailout. Does that sound like free market? We're the ppl loans and stimulus money free market? How about all the corporate welfare ? Getting around capital gains tax is very easy just look at Donald Trump lol free market socialism and fascism all apart of our system.

OK...not much I can argue with here. I would be interested in unpacking your claim about free market fascism and socialism. Not that is disagree, in fact you might be on to something here. Not a fan of Trump, but our economy was much better under his watch. Of course Edwards would say he does not deserve credit.

Corporation's own the politicians thats fascists. The 1% that gets bailout and corporate welfare thats socialist. The mom and pop business thats free market. Once Nixon administration allowed a Corporation to be a living entity in itself just brought everything into the light. Bring on a crash because during the " pandemic " I personally made more money than ever.

That actually has been said before a bit differently: Its socialism (ie tons of government/taxpayer funded money) for Corporations, and capitalism for the rest of us.
