Did a deep search on my pup's mom....Jeep? WTF?

I know that what is 6-7 generations back on a dog does not mean much....and my pup is a pet only so it does not really matter. But going back I saw pretty much all Jeep in the pedigree. About 90% with maybe a touch of Red Boy.

That strikes me as strange because the last time I was looking for a dog (dogs, got 2) was more than 13 years ago, and I remember a lot of people felt that Jeep was waaaay overated and waaaay overbred.

Like I said, it does not matter, but it was just surprising, that is all, since as far as I know (and I don't know much) I did not think there were many Jeep dogs around anymore. On he other and there are tons of Red boy dogs, but that is because, as far as I know, Red boy dogs have continued to produce well.

Since you guys are a wealth of info, am I seeing anything strange?

It doesn’t matter my dear friend. if the both parent’s familly has proved to be exceptionally successful in producing the ideal combination of desired characteristics than you have a good chance to have a good later may you are a good scholer.

Looks pretty heavy Red Boy....I imagine a good cross w/ Jeep.

Bringing back this thread because my dog is so high strung. I always knew that the Red Boy dogs (my dog is about 20% Red Boy or so) were high strung, but did the Jeep dogs have the same reputation?

  6. please, can you share the pedigree

I had a ton of “Jeep” honeybunch whatever you want to call ‘‘em dogs. Their temperament depended on where they came from and who bred them. Some were smart and intense (from Florida Hunt) Some were dumb as rocks, off WCC Rocky bred too tight, some were cold ass assassins Gr.CH Silk CH Famous Amos.
My guess is if your bitch is high strung, intelligent with a good prey drive she’s a good one.

Yeah, she is barely 7.5 months and still out of control. Gotta work her on the flirt pole and run her daily or she goes nuts. Never had a dog with this much prey drive. incredibly athletic and while it is early seems to have a very hard mouth. Really interested in seeing what she can do when she gets older. Very hard to hold her or pet her.

Who bred ‘‘em and why is always the question

Talarico, dirty Bill Gersten, Bill Pritts, Bob and Julie WCC. Lots of badass Chicago going on there

Yes. I've owned dogs off CH, Gr Ch (I was obsessed with the Tant/Yellow/Mayday line for many years...Mayday dogs seemed to become less athletic over time) and this is by far the most athletic and driven dog I have owned. She still can't be loose in the house and she is close to 8 months. She also seems to have turned on. I know this means little in terms of what she really is, but I have a feeling she will be an absolute nightmare for another 4 legged creature. I go to great lengths to work her and keep her away from other dogs.

Her breeder is very, very closed mouth. Honest as the day is long, but won't say anything. 25 years ago my breeder (Gary, Big Apple) and I used to talk about everything, but today things are different. I told the breeder of this dog I would like to take a look at her at around 15 months (in a weight pull of course) and he, after a long pause on the phone, denied even knowing what I was talking about. However I did do my research before buying her.

You will notice that the current bloodline is "Carr". That is my breeders partner. Doing a background search I found that his name was in the local paper several times for allegations of you know what. They even had a picture of a breeding. I asked my breeder about his partner "Carr" and he responded "yeah, the laws been after him for 10 years with no luck" and that is as much as he would say. But of course that explains his closed mouth. In any event I was convinced that his line was proven.

If I have said too much please feel free to delete this post.

Old girls creeping on 9 months...

This killer gonna knock off all the "average $2500" and be the youngest gr ch ever or what?

I mean by now she should've downed a couple in school if she's what you say.... should've named her Kip Kinkel lmfao.

I just had to throw some jabs since you haven't told us how much of an ace she is in a bit.

On a serious note I've had a Kip Kinkel, Squeaky Fromme, Tex Watson, Sturgill Simpson, Koe... if they're famous killers or good country singers I've had or will have one named after them lol.

Don't get on here too much anymore but yep, almost 9 months, still a bit too young but I sure would like to take a look at her. She comes from some good dogs.
