Was wondering if anyone has imported a dog from Latin America into the US. I have an employee who’s put me into contact with a breeder from panama. He’s got a new litter that he’d like to introduce some some ofrn blood into a couple of his females. He’d like to send me 3 but I’m only willing to take one. I think he’ll go for it but he’s asked me to cover the importation cost and then depending on the size of the litter he’ll cover the cost of sending a couple of the female pups back to panama.
I do have contacts in Houston and Naples FL that I’m sure would be willing to help bring her into the country.
    Any advice out there?

There is nothing special to do just make sure they have their shots and you're good to go . He just puts them on a plane and you pick them up . Sometimes depending on the flight you may have to go to customs but that's just paper work nothing more .

how about I’ll keep one and you can come pick up the other two. The dogs aren’t super tightly bred, if they were I’d not consider doing this, but they Must obviously need to be out crosses cause why else would he be wanting this in the first place. He wants to shoot for females 35-40lbs and males not exceeding 50, 45lbs would be better. There are a lot of good sorrels dogs out there that would be perfect, my dogs got some full brothers from previous litters that would work also. I’m worried my dog is going to end up too big.

you’ve got room for a couple more dogs on the yard surely. How bout it Bam?

It would take more than just a litter or 2 to get dogs to consistently be in a certain weight range...

That’s correct. My pup was out of a pair that had 3 litters. They consistently threw 40 lb bitches and 45-50 lb males. My pup however was not the biggest at 7 weeks but he’s on par to be a 60lb dog. Just my luck, we wanted another 40-45 lb dog and my wife had to go pick the freak of the litter. The little bastard is almost 30 lbs at 12 weeks. Goes to show you just never know.
