In my neighborhood theres some people who keep what I believe to be 4 dogs. two inside the house and 2 chained outside. The 2 inside dogs are let out at night and roam, and have aggressively charged me and my pit but I just ignore them and have never had a problem (irresponsible owners) Anyways one of the large dogs barks has a very low loud bark. I have never seen the dog off the chain, anyways last night I took my dog out and heard the dog barking which is a clear sign of a sad frustrated dog that never gets excersise. Anyways shortly after I heard a loud pop and the dog started basically screaming for a few minutess then silence........ It really kinda bothered me but dunno what I should do. If I was to guess they shot it with a pellet or BB gun air rifle.

Mind your buisness...Im sure if one was to look hard enough at you, they could find that reason you shouldnt own the dog you got.

I guess until you actually see, as opposed to hear something,I'd just keep an eye out (because at this point, all you can do is assume, which won't help you in the long run), and make certain this person isn't abusing his dogs, no matter what the means are. Don't go by assumptions. Go by facts, take a pic if need be. But you'll need something to fortify your accusations with and "hearing" something, especially in the dark, imo, won't get you too far.

I once "heard" a guy obviously hurting his dog=big rott. That dog was in pain, and having rotts myself at the time, it was easy for me to distinguish a pain cry. I called AC. Nothing they could do, based on assumptions. The next time, however, when I actually saw him beating his dog with a piece of chain, (I lived on the 3rd floor, and my view into his yard was easy), I called the cops instead and nailed that bastard by taking a few pics of him in the act.
Not sure how much proof you will need, but I know it sure helped my situation.
The guy was a heroine junkie and used to take his frustrations out on his dog. He OD'd not too long after that incident. (true story)
    ahhh, sweet revenge!!!!
