Where Is The Outrage (and information)

I haven't been to this site in a while. But I remeber it as a site that was so anti-BLUE pitbull that it was almost racist. There is something I would like to discuss and I would hope that you "purest" and "bored people" would chill and really deal with this issue. I am in the market for a new APBT (not R.E. or blue), I already have him picked and all of that but, as I read a little further, I found that the guy from the Razor's Edge bloodline admitted that those dogs were not "pure" APBTs. And that he planned to start a new breed called American Bully's. There is an actual petition to have all of the registrations for R.E. dogs revoked. I really think that any people with "real" knowledge on the situation could not only help people before they waste $2,500, but could shed some light on the situation for real APBT enthusiast. What I mean is: is there anyone out there who has something concrete instead of a distaste for the blue color. Also, how about the people who say this, "...those dogs are fat, those dogs are...!" SAVE IT!!! It is actually not helping. But, the people who know, raise the awareness of people who don't know as much. I think this could not only help the breed but, put and end to people using the APBT to only make a profit.

 

really? Some people are racist towards blues? omg, i wonder why, I have a blue nose female and i love her to death, so why would someone discriminate over a color? its a inocent dog :-(

Things have sure changed in the years I have been out of the dog business. I have noticed the threads about the color of dogs, also about the size of dogs, and the condition of dogs.
I really never gave much thought to the outside of the dog. My interest was more to what was on the inside of the dog.
I have seen all colors of pit bulls. Some I liked more than others, everyone has a favorite. I have my favorites and will give others the same right to choose what they like. I expect that from them also.
The size never bothered me much. Most contests between dogs were by weight when weight was a factor. I felt confident in my dogs ability to compete at his weight, whatever that may be.
Even the condition of the dog has nothing to do with the quality of the dog. Proper feeding and exercize can change the condition of a dog. It will not change the quality of the dog. If it is a cur it will continue to be a cur no matter what the condition.

 

What precisly do you want people to say? I do know of people who from time to time have a GOOD, standard blue AmStaff (not a "bluff", but a real AmStaff). However, getting a dog from one of those breeders is way more trouble than the average person will go through. They don't breed often, or for color, have waiting list and won't sell a pup if someone starts asking for specific colors.


So there are decent blue dogs around, but the average newbe who's smitten with blue lust isn't going to go to the trouble of going that route.


And why would anyone come to a gamedog forum and ask advice on getting a bluedog. It would be like me going to a poodle forum and asking qustions about whether I should get a Chinaman or Sorrels dog.

 

Stop buying shit dogs with big heads and go to a real dogman and research his yard pick out a pup and be happy. I don't care if you pay 300.00 or 3,000 for a dog. Thing you need to understand is they will sell you what they think you you should have most of the time. Getting to a real dogman comes with time and effort folks. You just ain't going to walk up in his yard and get a dog or pup untill you prove to him you care about what your doing. DO RIGHT BY THE DAMN DOGS. You may not understand what I'm talking about but someday you will or you won't. Thats up to you if you want a true American Pit Bull Terrier and not some fly by night show crap they say is game because it came from game lines 70 damn years ago! I'm not trying to bring you down I'm trying to help you end your on going Blues. LOL Stop looking for something that ain't there. All APBT'S are worthless unless they have proper care and companionship from people that give a hoot about them. Pete Sparks said keep them fat and Happy!!!

 

there are some blues that are not bad but about 90% are fat hippos. I have a blue and she in the 10% not hippo but lets get over the blue crap and talk about what the dogs can do not about there color. If you want a hippo go to the hippo board.

 

It's not just about the color of the dog, it's about why these dogs are being bred: solely for their color & size. That's it. Years ago the red/red nosed dogs were being bred for only color & size & look at many of them now (that were bred for those reasons oonly). They look like Dogue de Bourdeauxs, have HD, have temperament issues & flood rescues. Then it was the white dogs & now it's the blue. To these people, these dogs are nothing more than fashion accessories available in different colors to match their outfit of the day. Get a life.

 

I don't buy a dog because of its color or size. If the dog I buy just so happens to be pretty than so be it. Some buy for color and some buy for other reasons. I know of alot of people that will tell you that color doesn't mean a thing it is all about what they want the dog to do the purpose for the dog. We need to think about what we want our pits to do for us before we buy them. For example do you want a pet, gamedog, showdog, or for weightpulling. The people who want their pits just for a pet and those that want it for a gamedog are going to have different opinions, and so on.

 

Its a constant hatred towards blues from the game aspect...I my self have a few blue dogs...Not cause of there color but because there good dogs...My dogs are from the original watchdog strain which was produced for the quick catch competition...I realize that 99.9 % of the people are mass producing the blue dogs for the money...And in my honest opinion overpopulation is one of the key problems with BSL today... But to say there not pit bulls is a far cry...There have been some old game dogs that came out blue and if you have read Dogs of Velvet And Steel then you have read the part about blue dogs been around the beginning of pit dogs...They called them blue pauls cause it was a pirate or something named paul that had em...But they were box dogs...Some think all blues are bluffs or worthless..But i go hog catching with all these guys with game dogs and my ol blue dog does as good or better than most...And i attend A.D.B.A weight pulls where my dogs win quite often..and just last weekend i went to a fun show with 2 dogs i conditioned and they won the best conditioned male and female over game dogs...I dont claim to have box dogs....But my dogs will work with the best out there...Once again i understand im the minority and i love the game dogs you guys own as long as its a working pit i like it....I just hope one day it will be understood that there are some people breeding these dogs right

There is a kennel around here that has been breeding the huge blue dogs. A LOT of people around here have dogs from him or his dogs in their pedigree. Alot of them have health issues too. I visited his website the other day. I noticed he is charging like $2,000 a puppy. Ridiculous! But, the good thing that I did notice was that he stopped calling them American Pit Bull Terriers. He now calls them American Bully Terriers. I bet it's because of the confession, since he has quite a few R.E. dogs.

 

i will tell you why i dont like the blue dogs and the RE/Gotti and the likes.now i am going to make this short and simple.it is so obvious that they are mongrels yet they were toting them as being ''true'' american pitbull terriers,or the next wave of pitbull terriers,or the modern day pitbull terrier.so the plain and simple facts as to why i dont like them is 1 i dont like mongrels,and i sure as hell wouldnt pay no 3,000 dollars for a mongrel,and 2 i dont like liars.thats about as plain and simple as i can make it for ya.i think it would be damn good if them mongrel lines was exterminated and then we owners of the true american pitbull terrier close the circle to quote another members signature, then maybe we would stand a chance of having the real american pitbull terrier around longer than another 10 years if we even make it that long.

 

Ill give you that the r/e and gotti lines and several of the red dog lines have swerved way over into left feild...But to say that just because its from blue decent or that said dog is blue makes it a mongrel or mutt...Just plain biased..Its your opinion and your entitled to it..But its simply not justified...I have blue decent dogs and they work like all the others..Are u saying mongers or mutts having no problem keeping up in the apbt events???

now by blue dogs you know i meant the RE/Gotti lines dont ya?if your dog is game bred weighs in the 40's-50's is a true american pitbull terrier thats game as can be then yeah thats fine,because i have seen as have many others blue colored dogs come out of game bred litters.but when you get into them 150 pound blue mongrels with the over sized lopsided heads yeah i think them dogs should be exterminated.and saying i am biased aint gonna make me feel bad or ignorant all that is is a last ditch effort to try and get people to accept them big blue freaks of nature,dogs aint people my friend so it is biased or discrimanation and you aint gonna get no pats on the back here by dragging doggy race into it to get your point across.

 

I am sure that no one here is hating on your dog just because its blue. i think the problem lies with dogs like notorious juan gotti and the RE/Gotti line dogs, and then again its not dog but the people trying to pass them dogs off as APBTs. if its a rat call it a rat dont pass it off as a rare long tailed hampster just to make a few bucks. I noticed you only have one pic in your gallery could you post some pics of the blue dogs that you own? just so that we can see what you are working with...

 

No last effort needed...Its just 2 people speakin there opinion...I dont have anything over 65-70 pounds...My pull dogs run from 38 to 65 pounds...My catch dogs are in the 70 pound range but all are blue decented from the original watchdog lineage...Not the stuff people are calling watchdog now..lol I am with you 100 % all the big fat sloppy faced fat pawed stiff hocked money makers should take a one way walk in the woods....Just saying alot of people dont understand that some of us well very few of us are trying to keep our strain real even though it is blue decent...My point is just cause its blue dont make it a cur or a mutt...Like i said im just talkin with you no disrespect or hatred intended...Were all just bulldoggers here..

at least you some what get what i am saying.i dont hate a dog because it is blue when i say the blue dogs i mean them oversized freaks.to me a color of a gamedog dont mean shit i am looking for the dog that will work the best plain and simple.now your dogs in the 70's are a little large for my tastes but i will take one of them anyday over them 150 pound things that cant breath or move.but your right just because a dog is blue doesnt make it a cur or a mongrel anyone with half a brain or a proper understanding of a pedigree can determine that pretty quick,like i said i have seen not a lot but quite a few blue dogs come out of game bred litters and they did fine they weighed about 42-50 pounds they were real nice put together dogs with nice genetics and were game as could be.to me color in a game dog dont mean shit i am looking for the gameness and a dog that can do the job i want and if it happens to be blue thats fine.but when you get into them dogs that weigh 150 pounds and are only bred for looks and to make the guys who cant get a pair of pants to fit them look tough thats where we run into the problems,then when they start giving you attitude and trying to force them dogs down your throat is when folks like me are gonna scratch into them hard and not hold words back.i think a common misconception is that we are against all blue dogs,when in fact we are not against the color blue but we are against the people who are breeding them dogs to be huge and out of proportion just to line their own pockets,thats what we are against.we are against them and their poor breeding practices,then trying to discredit our dogs the true american pitbull terrier for their own financial gain.

 

Well said....I too dislike the low riders and the slop faces...I like my dogs to work and if there put together like those they simply cant move...I truly do appreciate the understanding u guys have for what im trying to say...LMAO when i go to the shows and pulls i never say how my dogs are bred i just show or pull my dog and leave..I know that most those guys dont like what i got but when the days over and the ribbon or trophy is in my hand they gotta at least give me respect..Or really hate the judge..lol I put several pics on my profile just waiting for them to clear...would love to hear you guys comments as soon as they clear
