A friend of mine just recently got into a little bit of trouble and will have to pay a debt to society. His girlfriend gave me his dogs. They are real heavy bred Skull dogs. What crosses good with the Skull stuff?

how much time have you spent with these particular animals to be considering them to breed. surely if they are dogs that you would like to own stock from you have noted qualities that you like and dislike about them out. do you have dogs you feed already? why not cross them to your stock?
all that said, Skull dogs may work with Nigerino or Chinaman. i might take a shot at crossing them. do you have peds on the animals or atleast know what parent stock they have? that might give you or anyone else more insight.

I thought you didn't like the Skull stuff? You said yourself the ones you've had were "rough dogs but not deeply game." So I guess you had better cross them into some nice, deep game dogs, eh? Anyway, I think the Chinaman/Frisco stuff seems to do well with it.

  4. When a person does not know what “goes good with” or “how to do it” or “isn’t sure” about something/anything, NOTHING GOES WITH IT, SIT BACK A LEARN A LITTLE, NOT TOO SURE? YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE BREEDING DOGS. Like was said before, what do you even know about these dogs? Or pit bulls for that matter….better lay low, I think you catch some flack on here, or maybe I will. Who knows.

the question is do you really know what your talking about. chinaman was frisco's sire.

  7. How many dogs get you? And why you want to bred? And if this dogs are good why cross them with no matter what?

six bits or go back to the maverick stuff

Six bits is a proven combo. An Eli bred dog would be a safe bet.

Some other ones with potential would be Zebo, Boomerang, Nigger Toby or Boyles. JMO

Yeah, and I'd really have to be a newb to not know that lol. Its kind of like all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares. Rectangles being Chinaman and squares being Frisco, lmao. Thats why I listed them both instead of just Frisco or just Chinaman. I guess I could've just left it as Chinaman but to me thats almost like just saying Honeybunch instead of Jeep.

Anyhoo, Ill stop rambling now, lol. :o

First off I did say my encounters with Skull weren't the best. Never said I wouldn't give it another shot. Second, They are very good dogs. I've seen them do the dance. I personally think that once a dog is bred so tight it should be crossed out with something. I don't know maybe that doesnt make sense to some people. Anyway, i'll put the peds up soon and thanks for the input. I do know they're off of Lock N Load's Hatch

I know a fella who had skull tight bred, and chinaman line at the same time(the guy had over 100 bulldogs), and he dropped the skull dogs. That says something to me right there. But to answer you question as to what would make a good cross, I would have to say Eli. Personally have seen skull into nigerino and that worked pretty well. Here's the thing, when you cross them, are you gona know what traits to keep, and which ones are bad?
On a side note, also know a fella that pulled some redboy into his skull bred female and turned some good ones out of that.

But it is just like anything else, you need to take an honest look at what the particular dogs you have are doing, or not doing, to see what cross to make. Just cause it was tight bred off of crusher doesnt mean that the dog IS a crusher. Know what I mean? And when you say skull dogs, how in/line bred are they. There is allot to look at with that. Also, you could breed the dog to a no-name dog and end up with 1/2 a litter of champs.

Therefore making the frisco line apart of the chinaman line. But there is a hoard of contervisal issues over frisco is there not?

throw together some sixbit and skull dogs. Maverick really compliments sixbits dogs (heavy boze)... ties in the Eli and boze very well. Check out durango red and what he's being stuck too in order to get an idea of what a shot of maverick to sixbits is producing. Skull back to eli is a another very good way to go as well if you decided not to go the sixbits route. Good Luck!
