Super glue it to get it to start healing and then put the dog on Super 14 to get it to heal permenant. This is working for me right now on one I have had problems with. I have only been doing this for 3 weeks, but it seems to be working well.

Whats wrong with a rat tail :p

Welcome to the world of "Happy Tail" .

We had one, who we were stumped on for a week or so. When we would take him out of the dog box, he always had what looked like it could of been mange on his rib cage. Same spot both sides. It would eventually fade away (after a workout), so we thought it may be some sort of reaction to the bedding. After changing a few things, we realized it was simply his long tail smacking against his ribs and splattering blood, which looked like some sort of red irritation!

At work we use a 60cc syringe casing. Using tape as stir-ups (so it will not slip off) and placing the tail in the casing and wraping it that way. So when they bang their tail it is protected my the syringe casing. We have a few cases of Happy Tail of boarding dogs. We always pre wrap their tail when they come in. Just as a precaution. It always works.

Yup....tape it up. My pup use to bust his tail when he was crated and the only thing that would work is a wash cloth and duck tape! I know it sounds stupid but it worked!
