Well Tue in ATL a radio station was talking about this. And they were naming things pulled from Vick's property and talking about dog fighting paraphernalia. Well I called and told them that I was a Vet Tech in the Metro area. Who happened to own APBTs and I explained what those items were. And I did tell them that I show my dogs and I own a few of those items. To get my dogs conditioned for show. I also explained that the set up with chains and axels was a proper set up. And that what a "rape" stand was. And that it is a responsible way of breeding dogs and various breeders of mnay breeds use them. I also told them that before they jump on the media hype they really should research because it does not look good that they are reporting false information.

Well needless to say they did not even air my call just kept on airing all the idiots that did not know what they were talking about. Guess the truth was not news worthy.

 

I agree 110%! Not only did the HSUS give them instructions, they gave them the WRONG ones! But they HSUS fails to mention that ...

 

Um, what kinda fence do u have for people to see through or over? If it's a privacy fence put up a privacy sign and tell animal control what the items were intended for and not to step foot on your property unless they have sufficient evidence against you or a search warrant. They can call the itmes dog fighting materials all they want but excercising a dog isn't illegal, well not here it isn't anyway.

i am sorry it is happening.it is bad for a average owner of these dogs but when your known in your area as a breeder and have been breeding them for a long time it is all the worse.they figure we still do things we did when we were young men and just get away with it.tonight i have put up canvas on on my front gate so folks can not see it.i am not worried about them jumping my wall to do anything to the dogs or myself because it is real high as you all know,plus i have security cameras and guard dogs.but one never does know for sure.but i have been through things like this before and i am sure this to will pass.but it is a shame that we are being harrased because of this idiot.i mean he is a shady charectar to begine with.i did a little snooping on him on the net and so far he has knowingly passed on a case of herpies to a woman,stole a mans rolex wrist watch at a air port then later returned it,sought treatment for herpies under a name of Joe Mexico after denying he passed them onto this same woman,and tried to bring a water bottle with a seceret compartment smelling of marijuana on to a air plane.so this boy don't sound to trust worthy to me but yet folks like me decent honest fanciers of this wonderfull breed are getting harrased now because of what this idiot did and because of what the HS and AR wack jobs are printing in the news paper and put on the news.but this to will pass but with what damaging effects will remain to be seen.

 

deep down, i do think this will pass, but i've a feeling this one's going to take awhile, and is going to "stir the pot", a lot...

I am so so upset at all this!!! We have been on the road now for 10 months... never had a problem, do not anticipate any problems... but... as I have before left Spirit alone in the sidecar for maybe up to 15mn's to shop or whatever... that will stop totally now... I am not upset about having to do that... upset that greed governs the world and this "trash bag" will get off... because they NEED him to play... and make even more money! He will continue playing in front of millions of people... the wall we are hitting our head on is getting taller and taller... Words cannot describle the obscenity of this whole situation... enough for now!

Well a little OT Bill O Reily had Geraldo on last night and the Vet I work for came in pissed this morning. He told me that Geraldo was on a tirade about "pit bulls" comparing them to loaded guns and that they can not tell the differenc between small children and dogs.

Well the Dr wrote a letter to Bill O'reily telling him that if he asked 100 Vet professionals that they would tell you that 9 times out of 10 "Pit Bulls" are loving animals. Rarely HA and that there are other breeds that are more HA. And there was more but I do not remember all of it.

Oh yea My boss The Vet has owned APBT. His last one just died and she was 13.

We have to stop talking about these dogs outside of "the circle''. No one but "us" understand these dogs and it's a losing battle trying to explain to other people about these dogs. I don't mean the whole anti-BSL arguement. Fight for the freedom of this breed, but keep the working aspect away from the general public. They won't accept it, EVER. No matter how you explain it, ALL people that are involved in it are "little men that are too scared to fight their own battles and should be lathered in liver juice and pitted against one of their own pit bulls". Keep your mouths shut about anything and do your own dogs. Don't show off, talk, flaunt, or give any hint if you engage in this sport. Make sure ribbons and trophy's adorne your house from weight pulling, conformation, obedience, etc... Don't let people see you working your dog except for walking. Flirt pole, spring pole, weight dragging, jenny, treadmill, etc should be performed in a secluded area. Alright, I'm done. The Guiness is starting to hit me

 

My Vet feels the same way, in her own words my highly DA male was "a Model citizen " . He spent alot of hours down there at the vet office going through chemo for several months. The entire staff loved my Angus dearly. My vet was so hurt by the passig of my dog she could not put the needle in him herself ....she was crying right along with my wife and myself and had to have one of the techs do it.

I wish the media would talk to these people in the animal field instead of talking to the ignorant know-nothing fools that are clueless about the breed.

 

i agree we must do that close the circle on the conditioning aspect of it.but i haven't worked a dog in over 30 years and by work i mean matching them.soon as my sport wasn't legal anymore i quit it plain and simple.but now as far as myself going around showing off,telling people about how to work dogs and such all i can do with that is laugh.that is not something i do.but i am well known in my area as is the bain with many other men from the past as a dogfighter a man who breeds fighting dogs and still does what i did when i was a young man when nothing could be further from the truth.but as far as conditioning a dog and not letting anyone see it that is never a problem for me.reason why i have 40 acres all enclosed by a 25 foot wall with a even higher gate blocking my entrance and the only way to get through that gate is to either enter the numeric code,or to have either myself or my wife open it for you from the house.so i can condition a dog till my hearts content and no one unless they are in a helicopter is going to see it.everyone knows of my past but anyone who knows me also know that what i did in the past has been left in the past,i have trophys and ribbons from matches all over my home but again they are from the past,and trust me no one gets in my home that is not wanted

 

Geraldo is an ass. good grief.. the really SAD thing of all this is people jump on band wagons with no clue and start yapping their fool heads off. Maybe they had a bad experience with a breed of dog. But shoot I have been attacked by a german shepard..but I have the brains not to hate stupid GSD's.
A dog is a dog.. the dog is as good as the owner.
I have heard some GOOD press like in that Comedy Central show, John Stewart he said some really good things about pits. So it will be a yap fest of opions , lets hope the good press lands on top.

Oh and the dog in the stuck lip picture, Geraldo you idiot, can tug like a beast and pull like a beast, then afterwords happily and politely play BASKETBALL with kids. ooo what a mean horrible pit bull.

M.Vick has acted like he was above the law for a while now..he could of been a great person, he CHOOSE TO BE AN IDIOT. Lets hope the NFL wakes up (once the sponsers pull, they will have no choice) but knock that egomaniac off his pedistal of stupid.

 

That's right....I dont know what it is gonna take for ppl to wake up and quit dealing with the public. There are certain aspects of the breed that shouldnt be discussed in a public forum. Yet this still goes down......Agree or disagree, we as a frat have given them the amo that they need to pursue us.
