Registration question

I bought a puppy from a freind who moved out of the Country and he wasnt aware that he had the registration papers so the dog is not registered.Is there anyway I can get him registered.Any info on this would be great thanks.

 

what registry are you trying to register with? i assume adba, if you are it is possible to do a single dog registration, but you will have to have the stud and the bitch's adba registraton numbers, as well a 3 gen pedigree, the birthdate, sellers signature, stud owners signature, the breeders information, and they also prefer to have a photo of the actual breeding. hope this helps.

 

Are there any other registeries besides ADBA or UKC. That I can register my dog with.There seems to be know way I can get the original reg. papers from the original owner.He moved to Gautamala.

I tried looking for all of this before and most of those registries say you need 3 photos and a little cash. But you gotta wait till your dog is 6 months old.....

Dznutts is rite. It's a hassle, I had the same problem (exactly ) when my breeder got deployed to Korea w/o giving me the info i needed. there is a place called the DRA (dog registry of America) formerly the US Kennel Club. They require a front and side pic. of your dog and 18$. The problem with this is that anyone with a dog that looks like a pure bred can be registered as a pure bred and there is no guarantee. To me these papers are worthless because of the manner that are given to anyone with a camera, dog, and 18$ Its a start so you can check it out if you just want SOME papers. JC
