Oh man, Thats crazy. 3 loose dogs in someone’s house. But why do you have a doggy door and no doggy? And wouldn’t you worry that someone could break in your house through the doggy door?

that's really odd. Why would two dogs just fly into a random house and attack someone? Something is missing in this story.

I agree. Has anyone seen the movie The Breed? It’s about German Shepherds that got some strange versus and were trained to kill. Well, this is something that would have happened in that movie. I can’t picture a dog, even an aggressive one, breaking into someone’s house going into there bedroom and attacking them for no reason.

I got that in an email from a co-worker this morning. It doesn't make since, 3 dogs are able to get into this ladies house through a doggy door... something is definatley missing.

Why were the 2 APBT and a Jack Russel on the loose in the first place?
    Where were the "responsible owners"?
Why was her house and yard not secure as well as the neighbors?
Why would they maul her for no apparent reason?

There is an underlying story for sure...

I thought it odd too...I wonder if maybe they were chasing the Jack Russell who ran into the house and they just followed...In this article they make it out as though the JRT showed up later...

Guess it doesn't matter how much I speculate on what could have/should have happened...its just another bad owner creating more bad publicity by not keeping his dogs secured.

When they get to the end of it- the lady was crazy- there were no pitbulls / catburglers- only a crazy old lady. But only we will know.

Have you ever read anything by the media that wasn't crap? About anything?

Let's try to keep the stories about the breed positive please. :)

I'm closing this thread, but for your reading pleasure, try this one. Another "doggy door" story.

Man calls 911 after raccoons attack cat

Sunny Freeman, CanWest News Service; Vancouver Sun

    Published: Wednesday, August 15, 2007

VANCOUVER - A man called 911 amidst a battle early Tuesday morning with five raccoons that snuck into his kitchen and began attacking his cat.
Police arrived to find the man, who had grabbed a nearby golf club, swinging at the creatures to protect himself and his distressed feline, said Const. Sharlene Brooks, a police spokeswoman in Delta, B.C., a community about 30 kilometres outside Vancouver.

The five masked intruders entered the home through a cat door, evidently lured in by the smell of cat food, said Brooks.

But when the man saw the animals were more interested in the cat than its food, he called 911.

"The homeowner was able to sort of fend off the four raccoons, but one of the raccoons was quite persistent, so the home owner ended up fending him off with a golf club and injuring one severely," said Brooks.

The wounded raccoon had to be put down.

When police arrived on the scene, an officer found the cat lying on its side in the kitchen missing large clumps of hair. Upon closer inspection, the officer also saw the wounded raccoon bleeding from the mouth.

"Raccoons can be quite vicious," said Brooks. "If the man didn't intervene, the cat would have been killed."

The animals, found under couches and an armoire, were eventually coaxed out by police. "I think when they saw the state of their friend, they decided it was time to go," Brooks said.

The man was not injured, but the cat required some veterinarian care, said Brooks.

Brooks said police have assisted in driving away raccoons eating garbage in other kitchens.

"When you are faced with a situation and you don't know what to do, it would be a frightening experience, because these animals are attacking you and your cat and it's two o'clock in the morning, you think rapidly."
