Corvino Line?

Have the corvino line faded away?

 

There is a little around where I live. It's not pure by any means.

 

how come it's not pure? ive heard of the line yeah but no specific bloodline, i haven't seen a specific strain

I believe they were known as the Corvino strain and I guess what I meant to say is people use that term loosely around here. I see it all the time, Red Devil/Corvino pups. Not from reputable breeders.

 

Joe Corvino was a legendary dogman who passed away in the 60's. If Ross' Red Devil (aka Iron Dusty) is one of the foundation dogs on your dogs ped then you have a good amount of Corvino bred dogs through that. The comment that no reputable breeder has the RedDevil line is pure ignorant bs. I can think of at least one very reputble breeder with this line of dogs. Also you can get Corvino blood through Going Light Barney, through some Boudraux dogs, Mayfield dogs, and so on. Lots of other breeders had Corvino dogs in their bloodlines.

 

So, let me try it this way. THEY ARE BACK YARD BREEDERS. They use the term to sell pups around HERE. They are not reputable breeders HERE. They are people pushing a name to sell a dog. I don't think they have a ped. I know about Corvino dogs. My hubby had some in the early 80's. Hope that explained what I was trying to say a little better for you. I was talking about where I live. Not the whole "Dogworld."

 

That's not what she said. She said that people are using those bloodlines to peddle pups where she's at. You see that a lot. People peddling what they think are the best names. You may know "at least one" reputable breeder, but that doesn't change the fact that for every one, there are probably 50 that are just in it for dem ducketts.

I see what you was tryin to say - breeders in your area use the name Corvino as a pup peddling ruse. Kind of like when I was at a fun show and a kennel was peddling yet unborn 'OFRN' pups of two 120lb giant headed fat hippos that just happened to be reddish in color with reddish noses. Unable to keep my mouth shut I took my 39lb bitch out of her crate and butted into the conversation --- needless to say all I got was some stink eye!!!!!
