Me too that was my baby. with 2.73 rear gear and 1 tire fire she ran 12.85 in the 1/4. That was with 400+hp engine before I worked her over. I have the stock gears still but installed a posi. The rear tires are 14.5" wide 8" up front TH400 tranny stock.

That's what I think too. But I also know a 2000 model has some things that are totally different than say a 99 or an 01 as far as factory parts where 99 back will interchange and an 01 up to the new bodystyle will also.

 

And I'm pretty sure in 01 they started making the 24valve HO.

 

pretty sure its a 12. but when it gets day light i'll go double check, all i know for sure is I coulda done paid it off in the money Ive spent on it this year.
the fuel system was more expensive that the transmission!

Briarpatch yours an auto or a manual? My tranny ran 2500 and its an auto had it done at the dealership though.

 

its auto. We had ours done a diesel shop and thats what it cost me too. When I replaced the fuel system it was 3800!

 

Compared to today? the newer Roche (SP) or even the GT would smoke that old 5.0 (love your car scratchindog but I think it would get blown out of the water by the newer mustangs) The engines of today are just as powerful (in reality even more so than back in the days of that particular 5.0), on top of being much more fuel efficient.

Boy, I own a 2007 KIA Spectrum its got a 4Cylinder, and alloy 15" hud caps and,and, and uhh, uhh, thats it, oh yeah and it runs real good. Point a to B. LOL
