Breeding to a well bred cur?

I think no one is disputing that bullyson had an impact on the gamedogs but the fact is that he also curred out at 1 time.
Just like stocks, results of the past are no garanty for the future.
I think the reason they had those results with the offspring is because they had the time and place to keep most if not al of the pups on their own yard for schooling and testing.
That's also something that most are not able to do anymore, depending on wich country you live in offcourse.
Times change so i don't see the point in breeding to a wel bred curr when there are many good game dogs about.

Not everybody is in it to leave a mark or legacy, me i'm just glad that when i'm older i had a few good decent dogs for myself.

Many people refer to Bullyson, and whether you feel he quit or not, or was in shock is a mute point now, the bigger question is do you really believe he was such a prolific producer? All I will say is, look at where he came from and who owned, handled him, look at some off his offspring, and the differences in them. Inbred, loosely bred, or line bred, hell even some littermates. Look at the match vs Benny Bob. Nobody on the Bullyson side (as the story goes) knew it was his son, until after he lost, then it was established that only a son of him could beat such a great dog. Then this great dog loses to Jimmy Boots, and pretty much falls off the map. Not too much is heard from ol Benny after that, but wasn't he still the dog that defeated his great unbeatable father?

 

Hell can anyone give an age on either dog? Very rare for dogs to meet their offspring in the [] because most dogmen waited til their careers were over, or almost over before the dogs were bred.

 

i do not know many dogmen at all that waited until a dogs career was over or near over before they would breed them... hell just watch any yard video they would breed the dogs at 1xW and sometimes after a hard enough roll they showed game

 

That's true A game.
I know of several dogman who used their dog after he/she showed true gameness or after 1 win.
Also they do it sometimes just incase they lose that dog on a good hunt.

Just because a dog wins a match does not mean it is game. So if a dog is being bred before it shows it deserves to be bred, then how are gamedogs being bred? I know many a men that would not bred a dog until after its career was over. hence the term....retired to stud or brood.

 

In this day and age ,,common sense tells ya if your happy with a male,ya would get him milked for future breeding,then continue his journey..many a man has said "dam i sure should have breed off that one"shit that dog cost me so much now he gone..an' i have f-all off a him,etc;etc....so common sense go's a long way ....i'll think i take a chance an put him over that ol"bitch...ya all the scenario...??????

But we see quitter and curs can be breed and produce, its the breeders decision to breed with a quitter or cur or cold dog

I don't see the difference in the 3 ways listed when the end result is they all Quit and some believe a quiter to be a cur regardless of how they did it if they were still physically able to go.

If the dogs mentioned hadn't proven themselves on other occassions would they have had the notoriety they have?

 

well it happened by the famed dog men you all admire sure i look uo to them in some ways mostly i am jealous they got to compete in the sport legally with no worries other than that i could care less who did what if you practice what you preach and breed bulldog to bulldog and do not breed unless they are proven to then you are doping the right thing but like i said most of the men everyone seems to look up to did not abide by these same rules... but i have to say i think i would if i was a breeder

A quitter is a cur and needs to be culled pretty simple in my eyes i mean if you plan on breeding this dog and not letting any go maybe he could produce but not all people practice this now days so just cull em
