Obviously there are alot of exceptions but what have people found with this.do you think they relate at all.

    I do

well if there is one exception then it does not really apply for me, and i have known more than one exception, i have seen plenty of manbiters that quit too but i have seen plenty of non people aggresive dogs do this also so ijust think the % of game manbiters is probably no different than the 5 of game dogs throughout the breed, providing of course they are from game stock and not bred to be maneaters by some punk ass street lowlifes.

I can't see a relation, unless there is a way to prove it genetically. What is the relationship you see Alabama? Maybe it will help me think out the box a little bit.

I guess the only relationship I can see is that some dogs bite people cause they are scared of them and some curs quit cause they are scared of their opponent... But then again I have seen many dogs scared of people but wouldnt even flinch at a Mountain Lion, let alone a game dog.

Just mine and a few other peoples experiences.not just one or two but every manbiter they have owned EVERY time have had no gameness.i know peoples opinions looking at reports and history but im talking hands on experience.if there isnt a relation i would be very surprised.just what ive heard i believe strongly that there is something in it for sure

If it means the manbiters are culled, I'll buy that concept! :p

I've only had one man biter that I didn't actually put down. He was a game one though, definitely in the top 3 for the gamest I've ever owned. I normally put all apbt's that I own that are man aggressive down. But this dog was 4 yrs when I got him and I didn't have kids at the time, but I never bred him or wanted to for the fact of his aggression. I don't think man biter means cur by any means. JMO

I think it comes down to statistics , most manbiters are kept as guards or protection , and are bred by those who never really test them, so when they breed they are not breeding for game dogs, so tend to produce curs ,
where as game dogs are bred by those who do test them and most of these breeders will cull off manbiters ,the result being less game manbiters
manbiters can also be just as game, theres just not so many around for this reason jmo

From my personal experience, just because you have a manbiter, does not make him a cur. The only man biter I have had, was a deep, deep gamedog.

Thanks for the replies lads, very good point what you made crazyhorse.guess i just have this opinion because of all the man aggresive ones around me have been quitters.

Ok so would you keep or breed a manbiter if they were game and you liked their other traites??

I was gonna ask something similar to that ala' would anyone or everyone keep a man biter if it was as game as the next one?

well i would, if the dog waas game and had ability, whether that makes me popular or not is another matter, sometimes a manbiter can be that way through nurture not nature and some manbiters do not seem to throw loads of maneating offspring, look at ch neillson, a hell of a producer that made ROM from not being bred millions of times, he was a biter, i remember seeing biters off him but i saw more from him with that easy going bulldog temperament and he produced some real bulldogs for sure.

I wouldn't own a manbiter again because of my kids, but I would breed to a man biter if he was a proven producer and wasn't a second generation man biter. My son was almost mauled by a man biter so I have a personal issue with them. I would never keep a man biter now, even if was he was the hottest thing smokin, but I could see myself breeding a bitch with a great temperment to one pending the other availible options.

its easy to say i would cull this and cull that but if you had a gr ch zebo on the yard how easy would it really be ?
would he be culled by most, i doubt it, if he was not suitable for the yard because of circumstances how many would pass up the thousands of dollars he could be sold for ? its easy to say i would cull a manbiter if he is a cur but an ace would have many scratching their heads i am sure of it.

Well, I guess you can look at it this way:

Every dog is a cur, it's just a matter of how long it takes to bring the cur out.
    Some dogs are manbiters.

Therefore, a manbiter must be a cur (at some point).

I would personally keep him, tho i would not breed him as it only gives the anti dog brigade more ammo if someone less conciensious gets one and theres an accident
jmo i have had one or two wildly aggessive dogs (american bulldogs) just as guards ,
but if you keep man biters be very carefull and have a fool proof system,

If I had gr ch Zebo today, I would sell him or place him with a friend, my kids safety mean more to me then any amount of money. So because of my kids, the decision is easy, but if I had no kids, I'd keep him.

nobiody can say that all dogs are curs for sure, to me it is disrespectful to those that went out deadgame, who is to say on another day they would have quit ? there is just no proof.
