a bite sleeve is not a toy, its a tool.

you need some toys for your dogs, maybe a flirt or springpole.

Well I am just going to ask what I was thinking.

When you say play you mean they aren't mean right?

And your wanting a bite sleeve to make them "guard dogs" or something along those lines?

sleeves are not suitable for using them on a springpole, flirtpole or something the like. if you plan on working your dog in schutzhund, go to a working dog club.

Maybe you should make a nice flirt pole with something that'll get them going on the end. Maybe a bit of hid. The sleeve is for protection and schutzhund work.

ill never use a bite sleeve for a decent apbt......just my opinion......theres many dogs that are better for that type of work or training........

problem is pep, the apbt IS proberbly the best, but other breeds would be prefured lol.
im with ya, but im also biased and wouldn't have another breed. i also would never put an apbt on a sleeve or use one in a sport that promoted it.
if people want to do that type of thing they should get another breed;)

if your dog has alot of play in it work it on a mill of your choice road work or something why would you want to teach your dogs to attack people ill put a dog down if he or she shows any signs of biting what yo going to if there is a kid out playing with a stick or something and your dog attacks it because that was what he was taught to do just my way of looking it the dogs where breed to not show any signs of aggersion toward people and here it is people or teaching them to be humanily aggersive

schutzhundsport has nothing to do with human aggression or "teaching a dog to bite children". the dog goes for the pray ( = the sleeve) not for the decoy.

I get my equipment from here
    http://www.elitek9.com/Sleeves/index.htm

    or off of Ebay

But if you are using it as a toy and you are not doing sports work then I think you should not do that type of "play" with your dog because you could cause problems with HA. Find something else for the dog to play with like a flirt pole

A bite sleeve (or leg sleeve or even body suit) is seen by the dog as any other toy. They don't look at it as biting the human behind it. In sport, the dogs aren't using defense drive, they are using prey drive. This is why herding dogs, and APBTS as well, excell at the sport. Now, with guardian breeds, that's a different story. :p
