    A boy's best friend....

    Goofy dog....

A few days before we lost him....he didn't quite reach his 1st birthday.....

A WONDERFUL dog. Had high hopes for him. I miss him still today and wish he was still here for the boys to play with. He's never been replaced nor will he ever be.

Right about a year, he weighed in at approx. 36 lbs, but was a tad puffy from being on Prednisone for the previous 2 1/2 months.

Even though we didn't have him long, I still thank Mikell for allowing us the opportunity to own such a dog. His drive....his temperament.....his playful nature and his love of Cole.....a once in a lifetime dog IMO. Life just wasn't fair.

Didnt 50 want you to send him the dog back and you put him down instead? I vaigley remembered this and went back through your posts on this dog dying and although you have suffiicient medical knowledge I dont buy what you say as the truth about this dog, neither did 50

you've had dogs run away on hog hunts and all kinds of crazy things

why wouldnt you send the dog back to 50? It was his dog, I dont even think he charged you for it so when it comes to you chosing to put the dog down its no longer yours, it should go back to the breeder and he decides the dogs fate. Dog would probably be still living in florida if you sent it back, thats what I get out of it anyway

You don't have to buy it. I offered to send ALL medical reports.

He had Masticatory Myositis and his ANA test for Lupus came back positive from LSU's vet school.

I don't just go around killing dogs for the fun of it. Maybe hard to believe and all............

And had I not been a tech, I would have been out thousands for that dog just in the 7 months of treatment that was performed. As it was, I was out about $1,500 for all the testing through LSU.

And no, I'm not going to ship a dog whose own immune system was destroying the body's muscle fibers....a dog who could no longer completely open or close his mouth.....whose front legs were beginning to stiffen and not work.....who had stomach ulcers and bleeding from the ONLY known treatment which was that of corticosteroids......No, I would not ship a dog back anywhere in that condition. I did what a man/woman should do and the put dog out of his misery. And never once did I badmouth anyone or anything about the dog or the issues we had with him. I did my best to give that dog a fighting chance and he was delegated to being my son's pet.

Don't believe me? I don't care. I'm not a liar, I've never been a liar, and I have no business starting to be one now. A liar has to put too much energy into what he does....and I have no time for such b.s. in my life. I'm honest. And maybe that just pisses off those that don't understand the meaning of the word.

And you are right. The dog was a gift. I paid $100 to cover some vet care and the shipping crate and paid C.O.D. to have him shipped here on Delta (came out to be about $200 if I remember correctly). And maybe I could've been a bitch and demanded another dog, by why? The dog was a gift. It wasn't M.'s fault that the dog ended up that way. He owed me nothing. I promised to give my best to the dog and I did. I wish things hadn't gone the way they did, but I've learned that life ends up being far different at times than we think it will ever be. So I took the high road and appreciated the gift, took responsibility for it, and never placed blame or demanded some sort of replacement. I'm not one of those people that believes I'm entitled to something if something prior doesn't work out. A dog is NEVER a guaranteed investment.

And with that, I'm done with this thread. I tried to show a positive and it ends up being slammed and filled with negativity. Take it as you wish. It is what it is.

funny the person here who's had the most hard to believe dog situations and wackey posts has this happen to them. When you posted this I ran through your post history and nobody in the history of dogs has had the sht happen to them like you have.

you could have and should have got the dog back to him, you didnt because your story is bs.

who knows the truth but what you say, nobody believes it and never did. I think the dog was to much for you to handle and what you did with it nobody will ever know.

you failed by not getting the dog back to the breeder and your fancy medical talk doesnt make your take true

how about sending 50 all medical records, dont offer, just send them and the issue is no more

Just spoke with the man yesterday and he says all is well, but he had some things going on that any true dogger would understand but most on this board wont. He says that he has been in touch with all that he had business with and that all will be resolved shortly in the very near future. I still stand by my words, Fifty is a hell of a dogger and an even better friend. Those who know, well they know. Those who don't , well probably don't need to.
