I need some help please. my dog just ate a raw steak

She apparently got on the table and ate one whole raw steak as it was defrosting. Is he going to be ok? It was not cooked.

 

Depends on whose steak it was... If it was my steak. The dog would get a nice side kick...And he wont be ok. But all kiddingness aside. He's a dog... He is the evolution from wolves. Same digestive system. Do you think when wolves make a kill, they grill it first before eating? Maybe add a bit of olive oil and season with salt and pepper...

He will be fine.........

 

Raw steak is actually better for him anyway. Don't worry he will be fine.

well as long as it was a t bone steak you supplemented one of the best :dogdrink: just for a future reference, dogs can and will eat raw meat of any kind there were no kibbles lying around in the wild.

 

A question for those in the know, is it possible since it was frozen, bone parts to be sharp and cause trauma? I know my dog doesn't spend much time chewing.

 

thats no problem, as long as it wasn't cooked before it was frozen.

in all seriousness, about all you really have to worry about is the potential for some diarrhea (cha-cha-cha) due to the high protein, but that depends on how sensitive your dog is and what you are feeding on a regular basis

 

well I feed my girl slightly frozen meat and poultry everyday because it gives her the time to take her time and chew. I was told it's fine even though it may seem as if the dog is devouring for the worst to lead to choking or splintering but they should be fine my dog is and we have been on raw for about 3 months now.

the only problem with my dog eating a steak of the table is that its probly MY steak, and therefore there will be a problem. other then that its proby the best thing your dog could of eaten.

 

The dog won't even get diarrhea. Dogs digest meat better than kibble.
