Sorrells Dogs

Sorrells has had some of the greats strains and dogs.. I think people once again are looking at breeding dogs from a competitors view and not the preservationists.. Look at Sorrells founding dogs. He does have pure corvino dogs and a few coming down from however Shoshone and others are hardly pure corvino they are however old family and thats the click. Didn't he have some of that blood from bull which is essentially bolio (littermates). Is all the sorrells stuff pure corvino? No.. are his best producers? What about the greats what was their makeup? He brought the oldest purest stuff back together IMO People get hung up on performance and although PERFORMANCE DOGS are what these critters are genetics is how you maintain that. DNA .. Every lil strand matters.. We need more good breeders who are more in it for the dogs genetic material. What good is the test when all the dogs tested dont produce?? Why do great men who know the 4corners take so long to understand the genetics of it? Stratton touches on this in the turquoise book, The Truth About the American Pit Bull Terrier. Does this make sense?

Everyone wants the pure corvino so they can wash it out; then what? you took the oldest best recognized strain and washed it out but now what? You gotta go back to the really pure and proven blood or its just gonna wash some more. When you re introduce old dna that is a recessive trait, your gonna bring it to the surface and I see that what most people have done with the sorrells, they just brought the old blood back in. As we all know essentially all these dog strains all go back to a couple a few a hand fulls of dogs or dogmen. Whether your the guy purifying sorrells or any other strains its important to know what clicked and what didn't and why. Now because of online ped we can know a dogs source all the way back providing the paperwork is accurate or provided by an honest person. Paper is only as honest as the man holding it. Sorrells honest dogs honest pedigree tell the tell tale sign of how to make it work. Follow the history and the ped, see how they got the blocks that created the blocks we used to create dogs of the future.

If you believe sorrells dogs, peds are accurate. Then your way off. I'm looking for some clouse bred blood to breed into sorrells blood.

 

Like what crimsong? Male, female? Gt one but not even close to me considering him worthy to breed. But just curious.

 

Bull and Bolio were half brothers not littermates, Bull being the tighter Zeke dog. Crimson is right, don't believe everything you see on paper there are very few accurate pedigrees prior to DNA testing.

I've understood for a lil' bit that theres certain people who hid dogs or litters by ringing papers to make them there own or this or that to hide the formula so no one could repeat it and get the goodies. I guess Im a lil bit naive when it comes to the assumption most of these guys were working class but the kinda guys everyone said sir to. That kinda just shows integrity and with that I may again naively believe some of these men were more honest than than others and more knowledgeable than most. Like dumb ol pup I guess I just eat it up sometimes :dogtongue:

 

That would be very nice indeed, at first a lil diversity but boy would those traits run strong.. Good Luck.. I'd like to see a dog bred like that, especially in good hands.

 

I had dogs off Ch Raisin, and poor boy (poor boy dogs turned on earlier &IMO better) but I have pure boomerang /R.Sorrells ironically most of them look and act the same (buckskin)!!

 

I've thouht about that cross before to. Some pretty heavy uncle bud stuff. To a nice pistol Pete dog. I bet you'd get some nice dogs.

 

I got one half of that equation and access to the other Crimson, you wanna raise a litter of pups and we can make it happen!

they ran long and strong non stop start to finish Now i'm sure time has past since Berts involvement and today maybe they have not been kept the same ,but what I seen back in time ,they were just great ready to please dogs period ,you could not ask a dog to do more
