I paid 1000$ for my first dog. Had little knowledge about this type of stuff back then and paid way too much for a pup from that breeding. But back then I though it was a good price for a good pup :( Got my second one for 150$ LOL And it turned out to be a better working animal.

  3. I have paid 1550.00 plus 250.00 shipping plus had to drive 6 hours to meet the shipper. I also have 2 dogs that were givin to me, i cant tell a nickels worth of difference between them. U need to get to know the dogman or woman u are dealing with, i have several dogman buds all over the south and they have give me more pups than they have ever sold me and viseversa, but if i pay big money for a pup, they have to be a trusted kennel in my eyes and most will give u a garrantee with ur pup,

If someone goes through all the work, heartache, time and effort to get good dogs, and then spends the money to properly feed and care for them (I have found that very very few do both) then I think it is not unreasonable to pay $1K for them.

If you know them and have a history together then yes, you can get them much cheaper but they are really doing you a favor.

Cull It, and charge that $1000 dollar dog to the game!

it was our choice to even step foot in the game in the first place, dont make a mess you wont be able to clean up after.

Cull it. Too many junk dogs out there. And... the fewer pit bulls in the hands of dumb azzes the better. We need tobe below the radar screen. Dont peddle. Only sell/give pups to true dogmen that you can trust, and i dont mean just trust as in not to snitch, but also trust not to do stupid crap htat reflects badly on the game.

Close the circle. Dont get into this to make a buck because you wont. If you become high profile enough to make $$$ you WILL get targeted and busted. Its the truth

For our fraternity think quallity, not quanity. 10 real dogmen is better than 10000 dogmen where 99% are idiots, which is how it is today

I think it would be reasonable to pay $1,000, but that dog better be of the highest quality and not just with a pretty pedigree. IMO, the individual dog is more important than the pedigree. It would also depend on the dog. I would not pay $1,000 for a pup, however if I am looking for a proven hogdog that can produce and I see a hogdog that has been proven and also has the ability to produce, then papers or not, I'd pay $1,000 for him.

first off if your paying a grand for a pedigree dog thats out of excellent stock then NO only inexperience would cull it because not all dogs have it in them, (only experience will tell you that) but the offspring of said dog will have the same potential. Not all dogs have fire and alot of it is if it can be brought out in them(handler). its all about years and years with the breed. as the regulations gets harder so will it be to get good bulldogs.

best dog 900,, 2 best free. so you can do the math,, its all about the dog,, you can have a whole litter and its only about that special one dog that has it..

personally i would rather see prices at around a 1K just because most people wont just spend that much money without doing some research before. This way maybe people won't impulse buy them. On the other hand more money makes it a more lucrative for people who are just in it for the $$$... To be honest that's one of the few things the Bully guys succeded with. Their dogs are more often with people who have an investment in their dog and there for take care of it.

That is to the general public, among dogmen i don't really care what i pay(WITHIN REASONABLE LIMITS). If i get the insurance of "good dog or new dog back" im happy.

I don't know the right people that well, but doing my research most prices for what I would consider a nice breeding are in the 500$ range, for those who would part with any pups anyway.

yeah, that has been my experience too, within the 500-600 range. However, that is solely based on pedigree. Thing is, pedigree doesn't mean anything and you should always go and examine the pup in person. Also get a guarantee since that is very important, like a new pup or money back option since nobody wants to throw away their hard earned money and 500 is a lot for a pup.
