They're Both Drowning and You Can Save Only One . Your Dog or a Stranger?

why is that? i mean a REAL reason.

again- how is that? because one makes a choice beit in the interest of self preservation or companion, that is what equals the comparison?

and this further proves my point that people, by and large, are stupid. the odds of a dog drowning you while you try to rescue it? pretty damn slip as near any dog out there is going to instinctivly ~doggie paddle~ once in the water- as rescuer you would more than likely just need to support the dog-as easy as a single hand on the belly. the odds of a person drowning you while you try to rescue them? pretty damn good. remeber that self preservation i mentioned earlier? well, it goes both ways-most often the person in danger further panics and tries to get on the shoulders of the rescuer, i have seen it first hand. this is why, as junkyard pointed out, you are taught to ~subdue~ a panicked rescuee ( i.e. punch them in the nose)
sorry, my choice may be unpopular-call me what you will. at the end of the day i make the choice that I must live with-key word being live.

I just was looking at this as a hypothetical situation that would never happen,and had a little fun with my answer.I find it funny that someone said they would go "midevil" on someones ass if they let there kid drown to save their dog...well where were you and why weren't you watching your own kid.I was not even thinking of a kid or mom when I answered,but seriouslly if it was some random tax payer dollar sucking bum that might end up brain dead anyway after you save him and live on life support for 30 years at the tax-payer expense...then ya,I'll save the dog.I also find it a little funny at the so called heroes on here calling others cowards...real heroes don't brag about what they do,they just do it.If you want to save a dying kid or a single mom...sell your dogs and the money you spend on dog food and send it to Africa...bout a 1,000 kids just died while I wrote this.

 

i will do my thing for the kids all over the world so thats why i early sad i do the right thing... and kids ar the futere, bud my dogs my family allso..
point in bolth storys bud nobody grazy or what, some allso just playing around just my thoughts

 

for me its not comparing dogs & humans, if i had the choice to spend my life surrounded with dogs and humans wipe out, or vice versa of course i would stay with my kind.

the thing with me is, who do i care about more?? my dog or some stranger fuck that i can give 2 shits about dead or alive? im saving the dog! rally makes good point about folks that panic. plus.....i just dont really give a shit about the next man. people die every second, its not my responsibility. call me selfish call me whatever, it is what it is.........



now, on the flipside if its a child or one of my loved ones im sure the story would be different, but thats not the topic at hand!

If it was a child that's an easy decision,i would save the child over my dog((" my dog"meaning the best dog i ever had)) without a second thought.A child is innocent, doesn't know any better,and might be incapable of helping there selves.

Dunno, I could never be comfortable with watching another person drown.
One thing I just couldnt wish on somebody let alone watch.

 

Know of two people that drowned recently too.
One who was a marine... dunno how that happened but it did. Undertow or some shit.
Another is a lil boy that wasnt being watched. Sad shit. bugs the hell out of me.
Hearin about a dog drowning dont really do much to me though lol its a dog.

 

Shit dont get me wrong there are a few people i would help out tie some rocks to there feet whatever they needed to get help drowning but i doubt i would get so lucky as to find someone i dislike tht much in that type of situation

 

i wouldnt be watching the person, i would be busy saving my dog

 

completely agree with this along with walking away knowing someone is dying and you could have done something about it but oh wait I might take a guess at what others might say to this "people die everyday or people's problems not mine". If someone is cold blooded and heartless like that there is nothing more I have to say I do know good deeds will never go unnoticed and you will be rewarded in time, so to not even consider to TRY is pretty sad on your part.

 

for what its worth, i saved my little brother from drowning when he was 2!
