it doesn't matter, he was a legendary producer...

I just don't tend to think it matters at this point as he is dead. I know inquiring minds want to know tho. He was a good producer and somehow that is far more important than what the dog was himself.

There were those there that say he quit and there were those there that say he did not quit. The only real fact is...he lost!

However, there are four great dogmen that built yards around him even after this match...Floyd, Maurice, Bobby, and Jerry. That's gotta tell you something!

How would you look at a man... who fought in a blood pit for survival and won on a couple of occasions, but his manager and trainers dropped the ball and he went into a match undersized, massive blood loss, in shock, or whatever the case was knowing that it might be his last time and he quits? Like someone said before, when you lose blood like that everything starts to fail you... would he be considered a punk, bitch, pussy, chickenshit, etc? Or would there still be a fine line to whether he quit or not? Just a question...

  7. Can I tell u a story?

G was 1 & we schooled him, on his first went into a 4xW every one ignored for a looooong time. This 4xw was a fast paced dog won all 4 under 45min. G 1XW 1h58 no turns 4XW RIP.

2nd one into a young one, no schooling over 20min, he hits the stiffle 3 RIP. 3hours 3min, 25 scratches, G2XW.

G open for 2 years... 3 forfeits, last forfeit 8weeks keep, I double dog him after takin forfeit, he aces both dogs, get weight another 8 weeks keep immediately after. 1 Cutter left in his mouth. Going against a 2XW 2x Pitkill. Release the dogs, my corner man says lets stop this your dog is 1kg under and over work. I say fuck you, my dog lets go.... 1h50 I think hes dead. 2h 18 I pick him up out of holds, G to scratch, gets counted out.

    Quit is a Quit.

I will feed any of his offspring. 3 breedings only, I'll give my left ball to get all those offspring I let out back.
    Who's the cur? The handler/Conditioner/Me...

so for those of you who say a quit is a quit. what about a dog who is in shock because any oldtimer will tell you that dog is no cur. just because a dog is standing does not mean they are physically capable of going across. how many of you have ever been in a combat sport.

He lost, he was outclassed he was no cur. He was 8 or 9 yrs old, had been retired well over 4-5 years and was having his balls bred off.. He went into a bigger dog that was younger but more importantly he was bigger, stronger and in his prime.. Bullyson did all he could for 40mins.. That cur was better than and more influential than 99% of the mutts born every year since him..

Bobby Hall not only said he quit, he also said had he been in his prime he would'nt have been able to beat Benny Bob.;)

  18. Bullyson Jr. also quit against Tombstone in 1:30
Benny Bob later quit to Jimmy Boots, also in around 1:30
There are at least 3 pages of offspring listed as being off of Bullyson.
In my opinion he was a decent producer but not a great one by any standard.
What he was which cannot be denied is one of the most influential dogs in the breed and he was the one that introduced the so-called "fast lane" to the game.

In his first against Clouse's dog Bully was at least 5 lbs. heavier. His second match was into a known cur who had already quit in 15 before. Add to that the fact that it's anyones guess who he really sired and who has hung papers off of him. There are much better producers and pit dogs than Bullyson, but very few have had the influence on the breed he has had.

He is just a blip on our dogs pedigree (if they are even true) and at this time his influence on them is practically nil. I must admit though I have never seen so many different excuses made up for a dog that quit in all my life. The truth hurts but the truth can also set you free.
