You can get a lot of knowledge and valuable help from some friends of mine, back east, they have continued a breeding program for many years, using the methodology of Charles McCaughin, who bred to improve the genetic weaknesses and malformities occurring in the Boston Terriers and bring them back to the dogs from the early 1900's. He was very successful, and also changed their name to Bostonetts (Old Boston Bulldog)
They also have Bantam Bulldogs (bringing them back to the early 1800's) and what an improvement they have made on the British Bulldog
Anyway, they have REALLY NICE dogs and are good folk...and well educated in bulldog breeds(in the past, they had our breed for many years too)
    Here's their link:

...and could'nt resist putting just 2 of their dogs up...LOL

This is a Olde Boston Bulldogge(Bostonett)

    whats the point?
mixing a working terrier with some pug like POS to get a mini apbt?
    it doesnt work like that.

for one i'd say most people here beleive that the apbt has no terrier in it's make-up.
and if it does that type of bulldog the terrier was crossed with is long long gone, and almost certainly never looked anything like those that creature you call the french 'bull dog'

:confused:I dont know why u would do this but if thats what u want. This is the way I would go put a good hard working pat not a pet and not a bayer to a boston bit lighter build and more leg than the frenchie and keep the ones that look less bully.then repeat this time useing a little staff bitch then breed the pups together. This will take time but I think you would get what your looking for in the end.But still will not be a small pit:dogdrink:.

Why not just get a small APBT if you want a small APBT? I know there are some purebred APBTs out there that weigh in the upper teens & lower twenties. I had a bitch that was 26 lbs c.w. & was small enough I could carry under my arm! :D

As for a "mini American Bulldog" they already breeds that fit that bill. The Shorty Bull or the Miniature English Bulldog. If you want an "established" breed try the Boston Terrier or French Bulldog.

    Blessings ...

I have one like that ABK, she is our house dog too, she is going to top out at 25 probably or maybe under and she is a lap dog, instead of trying to reinventing the wheel grich which takes time and trouble, why not just buy the wheels you want, if you smell what I am stepping in.

  10. any terrierman is going to laugh him out of town if asked to put one of their grafters over a boston or some other muck to help him produce muck. and what on earth makes you think a bayer is not a hard worker? some of the best billy dogs ever have been sounders, were they not hard workers or have i misunderstood your post???

Doing such a mix like this will result in a "who knows what" kind of dog. You have no idea what they will look like or act like. You have no guarantee that all the good and desirable traits will be passed and you have just as good a chance as getting a litter of worthless genetically screwed up dogs that are a mess structurally and temperamentally (and wouldn't go after a mouse if it stood on their noses).

Leave the impulses creations to the mixing of playdough to see which colors you'll get when you mix them all together.

Didnt u write this ? ur the pro right? why would u want to mix any breed of dog when u wrote something like the above. sounds like a contridiction
