i have an o'brien harness also...for me, it is a little heavy for mill use....i know several that use them and they are high quality...just a little heavy...i use them for power walking/chain pulling.....i normally use the collar when on the mill....i also have a "pulling harness" it is way cheap....it is padded across the from and double layered nylon...it is way light....i think i paid like $12 for it some years ago from a working K9 site....but i can't find it anywhere now....it is light and durable...had it maybe 8-10 years....still in good shape...US1

Your right 2-3 inch should be more than enough. What I meant to say is nothing over 6

Thanks for all the info slim

    Nice Mill....
It still looks a bit too short though. I like to have guide collars on the ends of the rollers an just 1" of clearance on each side of mill and carpet.... width of carpet 15". Adjustment possibilityies is nice to tighten up the carpet.... I like the angle to be moderate and then just stick a 2X4 under the front legs to get it steeper.

Here is a picture of the smaler Carpet Mill I make, fits Staffords and APBT real well.
This is a picture of one that I sold a few months ago and is in regular use by 3 Staffords and an Am.staff

    yours looks great.

mine, my first carpetmill has been modified significantly looks and works alot better will update vid soon. Keep up the good work. would love to see it in action.

I would actually even lower incline about two more inches on yours it'll give you more options, raising it the same won't be an issue.

Lower it more, and I have used both collar and harness. One dog I had wouldn't run the mill with out the harness on.Others didn't care just as long as they were working.
