Norman and i had a long friendship. From 1986 until the day he died Super Bowl Sunday 1997. Here is the beginning a letter he wrote after we went to a show in Texas....i have a dozen or so letters from him...let me start with the first, the last was written a few weeks before he died.

It's a shame folks don't correspond in such a way any more, at least not very often. It's more difficult to preserve memories in a digital inbox... thanks for sharing.

Yeah it would be real smart keeping letters like that. It would be great for helping the DA's case against you. Different times call for different actions. In today's climate I wouldn't even keep digital messages and I don't do nothing but dream about dogging.

I don't disagree, it's just a shame that in our current age (and political climate as well, as you mentioned, and it's worth noting) all you have to say for the conversations you've had and the friendships, is a memory stored in the back of your head. It's just a loss for our future generations that no old dogman will be able to show their letters and reminisce. But then again, in today's climate, I suppose we will be lucky if there are future generations of bulldoggers at all.
